you're reacting emotionally instead of logically. ESF had no other choice.

"For the better future of Korean E-sports, we politely ask Kespa players to participate in GSL and until Kespa decides to allow their players to join GSL without any problem, we have decided to pull our players from OSL."
your turn, kespa

this is what kespa deserves, and what has to be sacrificed for the greater good.

regardless of what kespa did, this is worse. Sometimes medicine doesn't taste good, but it's good in the long run. Indeed. So many people here are commenting while not knowing what is happening, or just don't understand it. Sure, this sounds pretty bad, but you really don't know the reasoning, that might be hidden behind it. And you certainly don't know how this will turn out.

regardless of what kespa did, this is worse. GSL got fucked over, the fans got fucked over, the players got fucked over, and sponsors got fucked over by Kespas move too. This is the players acting to ensure a fair future for everyone. How can you look down on that? If kespa acts nice none of this happens.

It feels like KeSPA hasn't been trying as much as they wanted to i guess.

I'm sure Ongamenet has had enough of this shit, I wouldn't be suprised for them to drop SC2 since LoL is so much more popular anyway. This transition has been nothing but problems and the viewership hasn't been there anyway.

The very teams that compose ESF are the heart and soul of GOM. While it's true that GOM isn't part of this on paper, they are in spirit. It's the same thing that people were saying with Kespa about not watching OSL. OSL is run by OGN, not Kespa. They can do that there, I can do this here.
Edit:

ESF did it during the season. It's worse. GOM didn't really lose anything. Kespa players hadn't been playing in their league, and Kespa decided to keep it that way. GOM didn't lose anything. One could argue something along the lines of opportunity cost (I'm not sure how to word it better, but GOM had the opportunity to show Kespa players and now they don't so they lost an opportunity or something), but OSL already had the players in the league. The players left. They literally lost something, not just an opportunity.

They obviously feel like they need to set a precedent to limit kespa's power. ESF players want the ability to decide which tournaments to attend and when, and they don't feel letting Kespa do what they damn well please will do that.
Honestly this is just one of those lose-lose situations; no good could have possibly come out of Kespa's decision to withdraw from GSL.

I know some of KeSPA players are going to be busy, but come on.. not ALL KeSPA players will be too busy to at least try and qualify for code A, it's the blanket carpet bombing style ban that is disgraceful from KeSPA.
Let's be honest, these tactics from KeSPA are an effort to get all of the famous players in a tournament that ISN'T GSL.
I'm sure they had ideas such as - "The ONLY place to see all of the best players in the world"
The OSL feat. Flash, JD, MVP and MKP., where else can you see all of these players??
So glad to see GSL/ESF telling KeSPA to go suck it.
Couldn't agree more!

And here's the backlash to Kespa....So much for the whole let us work together thing they had. All that hype and fun/entertaining group selection show for the OSL, hope it does not go to waste...I really hope they can find a middle ground to accommodate each respective side.

*sigh* KeSPA .. why you so KeSPA!??! ... GOM FIGHTING!

I'm for this, it sends the right signal. It sucks for the immediate future but will likely end up very healthy in the long run.

Kespa didn't hold up their part of the "agreement" and block their players from playing in the GSL. They sure don't mind that federation players join OSL though. Why? Because they make money off it while fucking over GOM.
This was an inevitable result of the decision Kespa made.

This situation is retarded as fuck. I hope this issue resolves itself soon or it may completely jeapordize progress making SC2 a major e-sport in Korea. KeSPA, get your shit together.

its a bit of both, ESF could have had its teams decline any sort of invitation to play in the next season of proleague instead, the point is that the action made was quite rash.
again kespa didn't want their players to take part in qualifiers, ESF retorts by pulling their players off from the middle of the tournment.

it sucks...... really i have no real reason to watch OSL anymore
ill never know if the Kespa player who wins deserved it
+ Show Spoiler +yes i do, a GSL player would of won :p
ill still watch it but only the first few games of the day, i wont be up til 5 am to watch a lackluster tourny

Interesting move. I like it. It puts KeSPA in a position where they have to address this issue soon. The ESF is keeping KeSPA in check, which is exactly what they're supposed to be doing.

If Blizzard pulls KeSPA's broadcasting license then they can't broadcast SC2. Do some research and tell me when KeSPA actually gave a fuck to what Blizzard thinks or who Blizzard gives broadcasting rights to. KeSPA has the support of Korean government (it's unreasonable to think otherwise, without that how could KeSPA take on Blizzard this well?), GOM does not. KeSPA can make an OSL just as good without ESF players. Hell, even GOM can make a GSL without KeSPA players. Why can't KeSPA make an OSL without ESF players? How many ESF players played in the previous OSLs? The answer is as you know, zero. All current ESF players that happened to have played in any OSL was a KeSPA player back then, so they don't count.
