Only 8 KeSPA players are playing in OSL. And 3 players are remaining in WCS (1 of whom is also playing in OSL). So that's 10 players who are "rather" busy.
Everyone else only has to worry about Proleague (one or two games every week) and dishwashing. Dishwashing must be really hard I guess. No wonder Parting was really scarred by his dishwashing experience.
There's frankly no other excuse except for the fact that KeSPA are trying to protect its players or be difficult with GOM.

Shitty news all around lately...This sucks. I wanted to see the SKT players try to qualify.

I wonder whether kespa is aware of the animosity that the foreign community has built up towards them. Do the Koreans share the same sentiment?

They clearly dont have the future of the scene, the viewing experience of the viewers and the development of their players in mind. Its just a money move with the power they have from people they more or less own.
I really hope with the growth of the global scene kespa will lose power and players. Please do some research on KeSPA.

how does kespa own the teams, where would I go to learn about how a broadcaster can own teams and players? do the sponsors not own the teams?

Proleague playoffs are soon so 4 teams will be without anything to do for ages and the OSL isn't busy by any means. The next MLG is in November and this next GSL season is likely to be finished if not very close to finishing by then. Actually this next season has GSL flying to IPL, so I wouldn't be surprised if that has anything to do with it. ahhhhhh very good thinking. maybe MLG objected :D
this sucks.

The next MLG starts tomorrow.

Today, we have received an official response from KeSPA, stating that their players will, once again, not participate in the GSL Season 4 Code A qualifiers.
This wording makes it seem like there's still a chance they can be seeded into Code A/S. GOM could have easily just said "not participate in GSL Season 4", but they specify the Code A Qualifiers. I wouldn't rule them out completely until we get more clarification.

I'm ok with this.
I think if it came down to actually being a GSL match that the GSL players would roll over the kespa players despite their progress in the WCS.
There is always a huge disparity in skill between the matches in the GSL and in the matches of other tournaments. I am 100% certain this is due to preparation and research compared to the "on the spot" style of preparation one would need for MLG/IEM etc etc...
|
A move to make the OSL the most prestigious tournament as it has all the players.? They probably want it agreed that they will only show matches at different times to OSL or give a bunch of seeds to Kespa players?
I dunno the business reasons, I just know it sucks for the viewers.

I guess KeSPA forgot that MBC Game died. Well they did and there is only OGN and GOM left. So they better come to their senses soon. Also Team 8 is still sponsorless...

The last paragraph put the nail in the coffin.

Kespa doesn't want all the current BW fans to lose interest right away if their heroes do horrible in their first GSL qualifier so they want their skill level to be high enough to be equal or better than the gsl players currently are. Even though I'd say a lot of them pretty much have caught up already considering how well they are doing in WCS.

I doubt did. There aren't enough seeds to give out for the Kespa players. I don't think they will seed 2-3 players from Kespa while the others won't even go to the qualifiers.

Those are some of the best Kespa players though. I think the range in skill of Kespa players is pretty wide right now and not all the teams are ready. Like you said, they probably want to make a splash instead of having 4-5 players making it.

We are deeply sorry to all fans who have looked forward to seeing the Korean eSports scene work together in harmony.
Why don't they just ban each other from OSL/GSL and get it over with already. Save us from the next few months of public shit-slinging and dick measuring.

However I don't think GOM would release a depression bomb if that was the case.
If Kespa was worried about their players image why would they allow them to compete in WCS, but not GSL?
