Well they're two governing bodies aren't they (Kespa and Gom)? So they would hold separate leagues. It's like in sports, they may play the same game, but they would be ruled or belong to a different governing body - so they just don't play together.

Can't blame GOM for the semi bitter comment. I hope kespa players play in GSL5 it would be a joke if they refuse after this GSL.

KeSPA at its best. Seriously, I can never understand how these players are not allowed to play in a specific league, because off the arbitrary rules of KeSPA.

Yeah, but GOM is not the same as KeSPa. Kespa actually controls the teams and players under their banner as opposed to GOM who just holds a league and the teams and players are independent. The issue is that Kespa claimed to be changing and allowing their players to do more than only their sanctioned events, but so far this appears to not be true.

....its not the players that won't be in GSL this season that bothers me. Its the fact that Kespa is acting like this.

I didn't know that bw had a professional scene, so i'm not really familiar with how Kespa operates. I've herd that Kespa was a terrible dictatorship in bw, but though ive also heard that they also did many great things for esports. So i dont really know how to view them.

However, this move by Kespa doesn't bode well for the future in my mind. I hope i'm proven wrong.

Debatable. I'd say this is a blight on their image.

Unfortunately I see this as an aggressive move also. Hopefully I'm wrong and kespa are representing concerns of their players or something.

Honestly, I think KeSPA players already have a very busy schedule, adding GSL to that will probably remove any chance for KeSPA players to go to MLG (who they have a partnership with)

Disappointing but GOM really shouldn't have said anything. This comes off as a little aggressive towards KeSPA and could increase tensions between the 2 parties.

Not surprised they aren't going to participate in this GSL. Will likely never see them participate in it. Both of these leagues are time consuming, current stars are already dipping in both. GOM will have to begin taking steps to compete with them by trying to find a way to increase stream quality etc. Hard to make time to watch one, can't imagine both. Even now I would rather watch PL.

They should just let some of the players (maybe not the top tier players) but any players go to GSL at least.

Seems like no more than 8 KeSPA players are going to MLG every month which leaves plenty of room for other players to do other events.

The KeSPA leagues are usually longer than the GOM leagues, right? KeSPA players are probably not going to participate in the following GSL either.

Judging by GOM's wording, it sounds like some kind of power move from Kespa. But what is it that they gain?

Iam by no means an expert on Kespa and their past but from my standpoint this looks that they just operate for their own sake. They clearly dont have the future of the scene, the viewing experience of the viewers and the development of their players in mind. Its just a money move with the power they have from people they more or less own.

I really hope with the growth of the global scene kespa will lose power and players.

not that surprising, half the teams banned their players from participating in gom classic 3. it's a competing league and OGN is owned by kespa. having superstars like jd flash etc participate in GSL will only legitimize it.

Doubtful. Proleague playoffs are soon so 4 teams will be without anything to do for ages and the OSL isn't busy by any means. The next MLG is in November and this next GSL season is likely to be finished if not very close to finishing by then. Actually this next season has GSL flying to IPL, so I wouldn't be surprised if that has anything to do with it.
