If there's, for example, future MLG event with Kespa players, coinciding with GSL Code A finals, I'd probably watch MLG live and the GSL from VODs.
Kespa have to be very careful with their "shyness" during this period, because they really play with the viewership number and revenue of the tournaments they shy away from. They need English spokesmen and good press explanations in advance when they do unpopular moves like that, or they also gain negative publicity among the fans.
Moreover, I think they are doing a mistake and disservice to their players, when they withdraw them too much from real events. They would learn a lot from failure in those important televised matches. It's okay. It would only help them grow faster and gain their deserved place in the scene sooner. And as soon as they become really good and unstoppable, nobody would care how bad they used to be, the memory of it would even make them look greater.
Well, we have to remember that Kespa is focused a lot more on korean market. I am sure they would like to grow in the foreign market as well but that is not their top priority. If you look at the title sponsors for teams, Samsung is really the only one that has a big foreign customer base and they are so big already that it is not like a SC2 team will get them more exposure in the foreign market. Others like SKT, KT, Woongjin, STX, CJ are all focused on the Korean market.

And Mvp just said they needed to be united to develop as well as the western countries... well done KeSPA

It would be quite interesting if Gom had the power to pull the players out of OSL, but better that doesn't happen.
Still, I know I will not be buying anything from kespa, and will continue watching and supporting gom. "GSL players" technically doesn't exist, GOM doesn't own them or anything like that the same way Kespa does with their players. If a Kespa player qualified for GSL they'd be GSL players as well, a current GSL player would however not be a Kespa player in OSL etc.

wonder if Korean sponsors care what the foreign community has to say?

We don't know for sure that there will be "No Kespa Players in Upcoming GSL."
They could get Code A or Code S seeds. Not counting on it or expecting it but this announcement only covers Code A qualifiers.

Poor GOM. They could really use the boost they would get from having the KESPA players in, they must be very frustrated...

A sad day has gotten even sadder T.T
I hope that next season we will see Kespa players in the the preliminaries ... here is to hoping.

Proleague is far too cutthroat at the moment, with 6 teams neck-to-neck in the standings. If you guys understand that Proleague is THE most important league for KeSPA players, then it's easy to understand why the teams have chosen to pass on the qualifiers this season.

Even though I am an avid KeSPA supporter (always trying to defend them, even in this thread), I do got to admit this is really disappointing and doesn't make much sense.
I mean, it could be that this GSL they're going to IPL (and MLG + KeSPA are now partnered) but none of the KeSPA players could go anyway since at most, they'd be Code A (and IPL is for Code S Ro8).
Also, even if it was IPL (or KeSPA players scheduling conflict), KeSPA could have at least assured GOM KeSPA players would participate next season...
I mean, players had time to participate in MSL and OSL and Proleague back then...

This is weird.
I can't help but think it's kespa trying to screw gom over.

I wonder why Kespa and Gom dont get along. I mean that dates back to the Gom BW tournys where kespa also suddendly didnt alow the players to participate anymore. It seems to me there is something going on behind the scenes that we all dont know. Anyways if its just for another GSL then we wont have to wait very long, it feels like there are 3 GSLs a month XD.

Looks like KeSPA is now showing the international SC2 generation why the international BW generation never gave an ounce of care or respect for it.

So many sad news today, it's really depressing

But the cutthroat part is basically this weekend. Then the seeds will have been decided. And since there are Kespa players playing in WCS when Proleague was going on, I don't think that was the biggest issue.

but why? At this point with them doing SC2 and Bw, I honestly feel like it would be more meaningful to even make it to up and down or even Ro 16 code A than to do well vs only other kespa players.

Have they stated why?!
This is sad news indeed...
