...wait, this means MKP could win a GSL.
I'm suddenly torn.
Nestea and MVP will be fine
Naniwa on the other hand would crash and burn in such circumstances

This is an awful idea

It makes sense when you realize we only have four months left in the year and GOM still needs to do GSL4/5 an Blizzard Cup. If they want to shorten their time, they can simply do double days where they cast 4 groups of Ro32/Ro16 in one day, play all their Ro8 in one day, etc, just like what they do to Code A; butchering the whole prestige format of your league is definitely not the best way to go about it

I for one have gotten past my initial hesitation and am thrilled for all these awesome tournaments at once, the amount of epicness produced during the time period will be magnificient. I imagine it will be a week or two long process so.

so happy to live in Vegas now :D

I wouldn't care if the final match was hosted there, but the last three rounds? How am I supposed to be excited for this?
|
this is against the very fabric of GSL...

Terrible idea.
Players like Nestea get SCREWED over by this.

who's going to be picking the foreign team?

I could understand both the semis and the final, then you could do them on two days plus probably prepare almost as well.
But RO8 to finals? No way.

well, at least OSL will be running around same time, that will keep being a prestigious tournament

If we wanted another weekend figure-things-out-on-the-spot type tournament, we would of just watched MLG/HSC etc.

Really not happy with this decision, GSL stands out for me because they give players the time to play the best they possibly can against their opponents. IPL/MLG etc have their own ideals, and I like those too - but it's not for the GSL imo

There's no way to salvage this idea given the community response, unless they do a tournament Top 8 of Rankings in 2012 or something along those lines.
Love the return of the World Championship (albeit limited down to 5 a side like a football match between mates), just wondering what the selection method would be :O

Oh man you're right! It's all in one weekend. What... what a tragedy. GSL's whole thing is about planning and like, long series play and strategy. That's how they get the highest level play. I didn't even think of this. I take it back, I don't like this at all now ._.

cmon WHyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy the special feeling of GSL finals will disappear Please hope the event will be 2 weeks long? impossible so the WC will rule and gsl finals suck
