tempest attack needs splash and AT least double the damage.

I want more micro.... less autopilot! Why not just give phoenixes no energy requirement to use graviton catapult? Would make for harassment that required active control and focus, maybe as a trade-off they could take away it's ability to shoot while moving? Best idea I've ever heard! Yeah, I actually applied for Blizzard's design team but they turned me down, said that a triple figure IQ disqualified me immediately. What a show off I thought 100 was the average value, meant it as a dig at the Blizz dev team as opposed to any kind of boasting about myself. I feel I'm entitled to after staying up late to watch..... that.

Mech still has no good anti-air. Why can't they just give warhound a goliath-like AA so we don't have to make frigging vikings every single time opponent goes for air units/colossus?

seriously. i'm tired of my race being about casting the newbie spell and a-moving my siege units
I don't want to do that in MY expansion

GOD DAMNIT THE BETA BETTER COMES OUT BY NEXT WEEK!
What's the point of showing us this report if we can't play this ourselves anyway.

So that is what Dustie calls "Mech play"... A bunch of units made from the factory a-moved around the map. The only difference between that and the bio play is that bio actually requires skill. No siege lines, no slow pushes... Just a-move. At least make the Warhound missles manual cast... The lack of ideas in that design team is mind bogling. Do they really want to remove all micro and any other form of skill from the game, or they are just clueless... IDK at this point.

Protoss had to play like a complete idoit to lose that game and he still almost won.
-He saw fast gas and an expo on his scout, yet he continue to make 6+ sentry which are useless against mech. -He ran zealot up a ramp against terran battle hellion -He didnt babysit his Tempest with stalkers and lost quiet a few for no reason (these thing are hella expensive)
Then terran realize how bad tanks are and decided to mass warhound and won.

The Mothership Core is really the only Protoss addition that I like. Allowing them to be more aggressive without having to go all-in is definitely an improvement over WoL play.

I'm just being sarcastic that you are telling everyone that you have above average IQ is an attempt to show off.

Well, that was boring as hell to watch. The battle report basically just showcased how one dimensional the game will eventually turn out to be. Mineral harass is done with a single unit with a single button, warhounds don't need any micro other than just 1A.... So is it safe to assume that the days where we will be impressed by incredible micro and multitasking are now gone?

I thought alot of the units look quite awesome. The widow mine (althoguh seems to not do as much dmg as i was hoping.. 10 seconds, looked like similar to HSM dmg at one point blows up near sentries and i think it doesnt kill them.) looks very cool and can be used in both mech and biomech.
The mothership core which i will hate for sure looks very good if a bit too flexible. the tempest harrass i m not sold on, scan ez to stop vision and with 1 or 2 scv repair would be faster than the dps. however it splashes air right so it might be better with more of em. i m sad the warhound cant atk air and warhound/battle hellion basically removes most of the skill in mech i d rather have them buff tank dmg and make warhounds something different and not have battle hellions.
oracle could be super good or bad, hard to make a call on it yet...
imo

Hmm with some tweaks I can potentially see tempest/oracle being useful and fun to play/watch under the hands of a pro. but balance aside, I really dislike the feel and looks of the battle hellion and especially the warhound - its units one would expect to see from a C&C ripoff or something =/
I'm usually not the one to complain, but Blizard wanting terran players to mech more in TvP results in.. essentially a mechanical marauder? That is so incredibly lame.. -_-

Lol @ this map. It would be funny to trap a army on the high ground with these collapsible rocks and nuke the shit out of them
|
Hahaha 22 range tempest what a joke. How about terran gets to launch nukes anywhere he has vision instead of with the ghost? Comsat/nuke seems about as balanced as tempest/observer/recall.

I remember widow mines vs. Zerg battle report rofl...
Also: One tempest one shots a worker I think. So maybe it's like the Protoss banshee for worker harrass. Except... ya know. Not.

What i really didnt like in the battle report was the toss durped with them so hard, like he didnt have stalkers under them so they just got target fired by vikings every time like really? they have like 23 range vikings have 9 they like shouldnt even be able to poke at them because stalkers should always be under them. Was really sad. I liked the Tempest too It seems like an interesting way to force the issue - especially if Vikings are held off by Stalkers like Picklebread says. I don't understand how it is "too weak" haha, it has a ridiculous range so that as long they Tempests are well defended they can do absurd amounts of damage/take positional control over time. I think the coolest thing for Protoss is the T1 mass recall though. Definitely something I miss from BW, since there is only 1 Mothership people use it for Vortex 95% of the time and neglect Recall (with Arbitars you could Stasis and Recall all you pleased =P) so I am looking forward to that as well. I also like the collapsable rock towers as far as neat game mechanics go, interesting to see where they will go with that/if it will be actually good for gameplay or not. Yeah, the Battle Report wasn't that good, but I think considering that it is still in Alpha we can't completely lose hope for HotS. Much of what was crappy about the report was the players' failure, not necessairly the game's.
I would love arbiters instead of the mothership. Seriously, it would be so much more fun.
As it is the mothership wont cloak, it will be the same cost and it will recall OR stasis AND it removes the mo ship core.

Bad map, "good macro" is 3k minerals in the bank according to day 9. It's a show off, this is completely irrelevant and doesn't matter. Day9 made some bucks we can pretty much assume this, it still doesn't matter.
Using only new units and the tempest looks super underwhelming. I remember it was supposed to be AoE vs light. Now its + vs massive? Again, it's a show off, of course they'll only use the new units
It will be Tempests sieging other massive units. I don't like how its massive units vs massive units from PvZ. As it looks, the Tempests will die quickly to corrupters, once the distance is closed by infestor/brood/corrupter and without vortex its all wasted supply in the tempests. Most likely game will be decided by the protoss' ability to control a huge zone with his armies vs the ability of the enemy to close the distance, this could make for some fun ground control shaenanigans, but we won't know until actual pros play
I dont know what to think but this battle report and the others make the game seem super far from being finished. It is, is this your 1st blizzard game? Games aren't finished until like the 6th patch
I want it to hit beta, let really good players mess with it and then balance from there. Do design with some more input of the more competitive players you might see something a little more interesting.
Or make the Battle reports between a couple of different higher ranked players? This is the only important thing here, battle reports weren't meant to be about balance, they're just a show. Take it for what it is, don't try to extract from it more than is intended, or you're gonna have a bad time.

When this happens... Pimpest Play.

I don't understand why Blizzard made the Tempest with a bonus to massive units, and decided to replace the carrier with it instead of the void ray.
