Entomb is an incredibly boring spell, and is completely binary in the sense that it either completely covers the patches or doesn't do anything. No micro involved from the other party, and no potential above force fielding the minerals. No idea who'd want to watch that as a spectator. Blizzard specifically mentioned breaking up the deathball - and when they're given a complete vacuum to work inside of (in that the game could be completely staged) they still manage to only showcase two large blobs moving around the map. No real positioning, not even any use of the widow mine past the early game. Tempest is just silly, it looks awful, does zero damage, requires T3 while leaving you without true splash. Remind me again how you're realistically supposed to get these out in the middle of a PvT. Similarly, Warhounds also look atrocious and are nothing more than an a-move unit. I think the reason I'm so unimpressed is because this was the perfect opportunity to show a change in game pace, flow, and design - perhaps even exaggerate it a bit for the audience. Instead, we got a new mechanical marauder + tanks going up against STALKER/ZEALOT. I used to be at the point where I wanted to like HOTS, but it's just so hard to be excited at all for it. It's hard to understand how Day9 and Rob can turn a blind eye to truly exciting gameplay and overhype (well, I guess that's what they do best) a mediocre-at-best "showcase"

Seriously, what was the tempest? 22 range and 60 Damage and they didn't even give it smart-cast, so say a unit has 10 hp and you have 4 tempest. Instead of the other 3 targetting another unit, they will all use their shot at once at the 10hp unit. This is extremely bad when you consider how long it takes for the attack to charge up. Mech? Looks like a simple 1-a with viking micro against tempest/colossus. I hope the pros can salvage this, because this looked really boring.

Am I the only person who thinks the Battle Hellion and Warhound are ugly? They both have ugly bronze/brown colored accents and the Warhound just looks like a clumsy ugly walking AT-ST...(Get rid of the gold colored hatch window) The flame animation looks like water spray rather than a flamethrower. It also sounds weak rather than explosive. When BW was released the Valkyrie and Medic both looked good, looked the part with the existing units, and the attack/healing animations were pretty adding visual improvement to an expansion game.

In spite of my pessimism, I was still planning on buying HotS, but watching this game just feels silly. I think I'll give CSGO a shot instead.

You have just watched the equivalent of a pre-Beta HotS game involving Gold-level players. I cannot tell you how many comments I saw (and made) during the Alpha, Beta, and so on of SC2 about how useless/stupid/dumb/retarded every single WoL unit was...and most of them were, in retrospect, simply nonsensical. So please, keep your opinions and state them, but be very prepared to change your mind completely on everything once Beta hits, and for the love of Pete do not let these instant reactions completely determine your opinion of every unit before you've actually tried them or seen them used competently. Thank you. Gentlemen...I realize that you are underwhelmed by a Battle Report featuring (essentially) terrible, one-dimensional play from both players. Nevertheless, in the face of about a hundred different comments about how (whatever HotS unit) is dumb, overpowered, underpowered, etc, allow me to remind you... You can ascertain many of these things based on what you observe of unit design. You have just watched the equivalent of a pre-Beta HotS game involving Gold-level players. I cannot tell you how many comments I saw (and made) during the Alpha, Beta, and so on of SC2 about how useless/stupid/dumb/retarded every single WoL unit was...and many of them were, in retrospect, quite accurate. There are players who have predicted the current meta of SC2 from day one. There are units in the game which are terribly designed, and no matter how much the stats on said units are changed, they will bring SC2 down. So please, keep your opinions and state them, but don't be prepared to change your mind at all once beta hits, and for the love of Pete, remember that instant reactions are for the most part, quite accurate, and seeing the units unveiled in this piece of shit expansion used by better players isn't likely to change how crappy they are - only give me appreciation for skilled players maximizing the usage of terrible units.

Why not have the player have to use it on each mineral patch? I want more micro.... less autopilot! Why not just give phoenixes no energy requirement to use graviton catapult? Would make for harassment that required active control and focus, maybe as a trade-off they could take away it's ability to shoot while moving?

Thank you. Let me remind you, this is what people said about WoL when we first saw it in alpha. And what we said when WoL was in beta (oh they'll fix it for the real game) And what we said when WoL was released (it will be fixed in a patch really soon!)

Oracles might actually be viable, but they are also extremely gimmiky and will likely have to be nerfed because good players using entombed will destroy anyone. Think of the timings you can hit off of two bases against Terran or Zerg if you can cut off their economy entirely every minute or so. Blizzard should forget about Stargate so much. All it needed was a Tier 3 support caster that was not the MotherShip. What really needed love is the Templar Tech. DT Shrine only has one ability, and that's telling your opponent that your going DT. HOTs looks like trash in my opinion. Blizzard is lost when it comes to the community. I'm excited for the Singleplayer, but I'm pissed at the idea that the Multiplayer looks half baked.

What i really didnt like in the battle report was the toss durped with them so hard, like he didnt have stalkers under them so they just got target fired by vikings every time like really? they have like 23 range vikings have 9 they like shouldnt even be able to poke at them because stalkers should always be under them. Was really sad.
