But, the issue isn't the tank. It's the frikkin Viking. In BW the 10 range of anti air was on a ground unit that could be pounded on by tanks and Vultures. Thus for vision people either went Wraith( which was very fragile, much like playing mutalisk and could be destroyed by Goliaths), or scanned. As a result although there were many stand offs, there were also many instances were tank lines could be broken. It was a very dynamic match up.
The truth is that the average person wants instant results. Blizzard is giving that to them, with Terrible DMG, shorter games, and 1A units. How many times have I been playin chess, Poker, or any RTS that I have someone come behind me and ask me,"whose winning". People want to have constant knowledge that they are getting results, and although the like to watch comebacks, hate playing a game were the result of a comeback gives them the short end of the stick.
And as we all know catering to casuals is were the moneys at.

Could you explain how you know that warhounds can't or don't require micro? Are you part if the closed alpha test and arn't telling anyone? And don't "they auto cast their missle ability". You know what else auto casts? Medivacs. Do those require micro to control well? You bet they do.

Well I mean, look at the difference in Mech TvP compared to BW as well. Protoss had a lot of cool engagement strategies, now you pump armour upgrades, hit guardian shield and focus the tanks with immortals, rest is A-moving.

I dont even know how youre attempting to argue this. its clearly an announcement. That is all. It is simply telling you when an event will take place, this is the definition of an announcement.

Well, I hope they have changed since the beta in Anaheim. They walked around and raped babies in TvT with minimal micro there. Stop this asshole attitude, btw.

Maybe LOTV will be the HardCore Esports Expansion we all want . But, at this rate who knows when release will be.
EDIT: OMG I hope that they scrap the WH. It's ugly, and just a reskinned Marauder. Terran is supposed to be advance Humans, not Southern Hoarder Hiks with guns who build stuff from the crap they keep in the back of Junior's trailer.

Yeah, let's pretend that Blizzard decided to hide all the actual features of the unit when they showed it in combat. It's basically a mechanical Marauder. Look at it. Yeah, it might have changed, but it almost might not have. Either way, it looks retarded, and judging by Blizzards "we want Terrans to micro less" philosophy, I'm not holding my breath.

Couldn't they make tanks atleast two supply? How is it that the warhound is two supply given its stats..
And im guessing that battle report is out today?

This is at 7:00 in which timezone?

I'm really excited for the mech TvP that this battle report is likely showcasing, I haven't seen enough of those and those that I've seen have been a great deal of fun =)

Man this is going to be so interesting. Obviously the skill level won't be at what we all want and it will be catered for new units, but I just hope we at least see tanks used successfully. I would rather not watch some boring a move Warhound-BH army
|
I'm of the opinion that Blizzard could have made a few more battle reports (I'm really curious about watching a PvP with the new units for instance) and I'm not sure why they decided against this.

We better be seeing warhounds. And they better require no micro whatsoever! I mean zero! Completely AI controlled!

I am sorry, but don't you follow the General election thread and before that the republican nomination thread and just generally the prospects of the world economy?
SCNR...
REALLY pumped for this, in a few hours we will all be the wiser how much we can complain about blizzard and all their wrong game design ideas
Turning into Cartman here - COME ON!

I just hope HOTS does something to make protoss matchups more dynamic. Both PvZ and PvT both appear to have been "solved" if players are of similar skill. In PvZ, it's trying to get an archon toilet against BL-infestor-spines. In PvT it's about having proper HT-Ghost-Colossi-viking ratios and controlling them well. Also notice that these matchups usually come down to maxed armies- that's another thing I would like to see go away.
