SC2 is running on a WD 7200 RPM drive, which really shouldn't be causing these kinds of problems. From what I remember this only started happening after a big patch (I think 1.4 or 1.5) and it started happening to a lot of people.

Instead, just create game and start manually. (Not sure if there's reason to use this, but as long as it doesn't hurt..)

(Not sure if there's reason to use this, but as long as it doesn't hurt..) I didn't change anything on my end so I'm tentatively blaming this one on the patch. Also, at the end of the map the cinematic mode currently locks the mouse cursor. To exit to the score screen, press 's' (it's the hotkey for Score Screen that appears in bold).

Because gamers got absolutely pissed off because of having to stop and go with massive load screens (anyone remember the old Tony Hawk commercials where no load screens between areas was a big deal?). That, and the size of game resources has increased much faster than the write speeds of memory, meaning that load screens would take a lot longer than the old ones used to. Besides, unloading everything possible into RAM and using up valuable space before it's necessary is bad programming in general.

They could include an option to load everything necessary into RAM and include a warning, that this will make loading screens last longer …
