MVP is losing motivation because he's in pain when he plays and I doubt anyone would want to continue doing something under those circumstances. I'd have lost my passion ages ago if I were him.

If that was even remotely true (witch i know for a fact will not be) he should retire right away. And you lasted 14 years with that mindset ? I doubt that.
Balance has utterly nothing to do with MMA and motivation.
Stop speaking for MMA, for all we know balance may have a role to do with his motivation. And it hasn't been a month, I believe its been 2.5 months, maybe more.

Sorry i watched broodwar and i don't believe in those easy way's out. Starcraft has never been balanced and never will be. You think 2.5 months are bad ? You have much to learn.
And for all we know balance may have nothing to do with it. But motivation might be a common thing amongst pro's ? Why does it always need a guilty party ? A finger to something you personaly struggle with or do not like to see ?

Anyone who loses motivation and feels defeated solely because of balance does not deserve my respect.
MMA doesn't seem like a loser so I doubt he's crying in his corner having nightmares about queen range 5.

Careful now, you are only alowed to speak for MMA if it's about balance !

It's sad to see so many players losing their passion of the game.
|
Ignoring all of the balance whine in this thread, it is a shame that MMA seems to have lost his passion for the game.
If he really did, regardless of his reasons it is a shame to see that he may be playing less and less or even quitting.
|
Well im not surprised seeing as SC2 is boring as is. Its the same damn thing every single time and if you try doing something different will result in a very severe punishment. Its a very counter intuitive game,,
I can see him being put off by the 8 hours a week practise sessions. No one wants to be a hamster on a wheel.

Could you update the OP, or could the topic be closed, as this information is essentially not correct??

In other news, it seems like Crank left slayers too. He hasn't played for slayers in a team league in awhile despite being quite a staple in their line-up.
|
I'm not to surprised that so many pros are losing their passion. Playing the same game for so long will do that to you.

I wouldn't blame any proone for losing interest in SC2.

That actually make quite alot of sense. In his play against Hero, he just go straight for risky play like hidden CC. It is true recently we have not see crazy mma performance like DRG vs MMA Blizzard cup, or GSTL ace matches. Hopefully we see a return.

I'm combing this VOD, but here is the part they are talking about. So far its the only spot I've seen where he talks about MMA:
http://www.twitch.tv/crank_829/b/326122545?t=81m03s
Exact quotes:
"I don't play SC2 for 10 days"
"I don't want to play SC2"
"now I want to play SC2 "
"but now low level "
*someone asks "why Crank, do you not enjoy it?"
"now like it "
"MMA too"
"hey guys"
"today MMA vs violet"
"cheer for MMA plz"
"ok fine MMA and me fine"
and thats all for that portion. I don't know if he talks about him again.
edit: went through the rest of the VOD, he doesn't bring MMA up again.

Maybe I might start a shit storm, but with regards to BW, the players would normally lose their passion after playing for 5+ years (been following BW for sometime now) mainly due to not being able to perform well. The top players would play for years and years. It seems quite the opposite in SC2 where the top players are losing interest..

hots will spark everyone's interest again
