I guess Xephos thinks they get paid well in relation to how much they practice and that quitting is banned or something. He can do whatever he wants. He isn't a toy for our amusement.

Person A chooses to NOT follow the instructions given by aforementioned management staff.
Employers are definitely not happy with his attitude.
Person A gets punished for it.

Assuming that you want to keep the current job. If the boss tells you to fax that paper, you go ahead and go to the photocopy room. If your boss tell you to wack some guy, you go get your baseball bat. If the boss tells you to work the extra shift, you don't say "Oh gee I don't want to." and expect to have no chastisement!
Beside this is an so called 'sport' environment. Entertain us is pretty much the primary goal these guys are trying to achieve.

Should just really love poor guys alone, if Slayers want you to know WHY MMA got demoted, they will tell - if not, you shouldn't freaking care about it, its their decision. it's most likely with a very good reason why, but no need to guess the reasoning behind it.

I'm thinking that the reason slayers management reacted this way is because they thought that perhaps MMA was saying all this so he could end his contract and then sign up with a foreign team? Isn't this what happened with Dragon a while back?
