Speaking of which, the qualifiers start on the morning of July 3rd, while the Ro4 matches don't take place until at least the week after that, so how will they know who is seeded into the next OSL and who needs to go through the qualifiers? There's a Ro8 match between Fantasy and SoO that very night of the 3rd. Does that mean Fantasy has to waste his time preparing for the qualifiers instead of trying to make Ro4 (even if he later earns a seed, should he win the whole thing anyway)? This has to be the most poorly organized way of doing this conceivably possible. maybe you missed where it says KeSPA players will have their own avenue of qualification? Ah. I suppose I did. Even then, pretty sure they're not going to postpone the start of the entire tournament until PL ends in late September. Knowing KeSPA, I wouldn't be surprised if they pulled the plug on the Hybrid PL after the OSL final and just went fuck it, lets go full on SC2. yea they done it before lmao

Wow, I'm really excited to see who signs up and who makes it out. How many people will qualify?

I wonder if any foreigners will make it.
Watch Grrr... make a reappearance and wreck everyone!!!

That's sick! but imho, I feel like the first season's gonna consist of BW pros getting smashed..

I wonder how the format will be like in terms of number of players though.

Its going to be weird to see someone like MVP or Nestea winning an OSL lol, at this point of time don't think the current BW players are anyway near their level yet.

long shot but it'll be great to witness boxer take it

Haven't players been saying that they pretty much only practice SC2 now? Even the ones still in OSL are probably practicing SC2 80%+ of the time and only practicing BW the day before or the day of their match.

Thorzain did somewhat okay in Code S considering he was jetlagged and hasn't really even gotten settled in Korea. I could see him taking a shot at it and getting decently far into the qualifiers.

I think it might just be honest discrimination, because it limits players like Puma JYP, Hero and the like from getting in. It might not be much but it is a limit.

Wait, what are they going to tell sk telecom (their sponsor) then? We just "Didn't feel like it anymore" lol? Has something like that happened before? I know about the gomtv classic, but a pl league?

Not really , players who have BW matches this week will practise more BW unless there is a chance that they will be send for the ACE match , because if you aren't good in both SC2 and BW chances are that your team will stop sending you .

They'll probably only do it with sponsor approval, and judging by the recent trends, I don't think sponsors will really mind. They probably prefer SC2 over SC1 (from a marketing POV), but Korean fans will probably be disappointed that BW really ends. We'll see.

Even the ones still in OSL are probably practicing SC2 80%+ of the time and only practicing BW the day before or the day of their match. I am pretty sure the ones in the OSL are at least practicing BW 80%, ro8 games (i think) were much better compared to the games in the odt or ro16 or even BW games in PL. This is the last osl, i am sure everyone there wants to win it, so they are prob concentrating in bw more than sc2. Anyways, I dont think they messed up KesPa players much more than they already have, probably the next OSL is going to be way later, they might even be some seeds from this BW OSL, but yea they are going to have a disadvantage as they will still be playing bw/sc2 compared to gsl players only sc2. But who knows what might happen to Proleague.

man people thought the code A qualifiers were brutal this is going to be insanely hard to qualify for.
Anyways a few questions about OSL. How many spots are there in this tournament? Also are their seeded players from the last OSL? Ive never followed one before and don't really know the format they use just that its "The" tournament to win in BW

They are improving fast . Most of the top Kespa players are gonna be middle to high korean GMs by the time of their qualifiers have ended and the mixed matches begun . At that level anyone can take a game from anyone . Mind games and preparation will be more important then overall skill level .

Any words on the prize pool? Or just fame (appearing on television) and a trophy?

Was hoping for atleast one more season with just the bw players to see how they do with only sc2 to practice for. Now they wont stand a chance in their own tournament.
