32 people qualify? Anyone want to do any over/under bets on how many Kespa players qualify? I'll go with 5 although it is obviously hard to say and I can only go based on their current form.

Lol, David Kim is going to make sure certain units get surprise buffs right before the games

Isn't it an open style qualifier? Aka anyone who signs up competes against the others? Or are they giving a certain number of spots to Kespa. Pretty sure they are mixed though.

Are the qualifiers broadcast by the way?

I hope OGN manage to sort out English casters before this OSL starts.

I'm pretty sure OGN will be lenient in regards to foreign accounts and what not.

This will be fun to follow to see who actually registers. Perhaps a big fall out of Code A/B players looking to capitalize on what may be considered easy money. Since scheduling is already an issue with GOM/OGN I don't think the schedule will be too friendly for the Code S stars to do both. GSL finals and OGN lol tournament on the same night -.-

It's the latter. There's also a rumor that even dual tournament would be segregated, but we'll see.

so pumped for this, cannot wait. but sucks for the sc1 players to immediately being tested with the sc2 players,
especially since they are currently being forced to play both games. :-/

Ok... so are the number of kespa/non kespa players going to be balanced at 16 each?

I think that is in Kespa's interest. You don't want to risk having the GSL players wipe out the Kespa players early in the bracket.

It might even be a good idea for them to segregate all the way until the finals. You guarantee a huge amount of hype if you pit a Kespa player vs a GSL player in the finals. And it's much easier for one Kespa player to "level-up" and practice and prepare for the finals than to expect the entire Kespa league to "catch up" with the GSL players.

EDIT: Oh, at least meet ONE of the conditions.

Yeah, first condition seems somewhat redundant.

I think it's responsive to the possibility that if you're in a highly highly established team, the majority of your play might very well be private, hence the most highly established teams have shortcut passes to qualifiers.

They've made it a very open process, I could see the first OSL being extremely competitive.

Its not nearly as bad as it seems based on just what they admit there practice schedule to be. Other than 7 people still in this OSl there is no reason for any player to put any real thought into there BW matchups since they can win there games purely on SC2 (and it shows) .

Exactly no one is seriously considering a format like that. It's the exact same argument when Koreans began attending foreign events and it was suggested that they limit the number of koreans. Imagine the collective pitchfork of koreans and foreigners... oh my...
