It's quite amazing that the OSL (okay, its SC2 clone) would now be open to the world so much. I mean, it's the OSL. How many foreigners have even imagined they could be in an OSL qualifier, like ever.
Might be old but a foreigner won an OSL so how is qualifying only something to be imagined.

I had your back until this post. Now you're just frustrating.
You know I was talking about the current Effort right? We all know Savior was dominant in 2006 and 2007. When I compare players I give more weight to more recent games and the quality of opponents they played. Yes, Stork won mostly silver but he's playing in the same era as Flash, JD, Bisu, Fantasy and a few other monsters. I'm not taking anything away from Savior or Nal_ra but the bw scene as a whole just weren't as good back then. I think it's enough to say that a silver in 2010 and 2011 was worth more than a gold won in 2006.

right? each era had it rivalries. i wouldnt take iloveoov, nada, so lightly. these guy win percentage was ridiculous compared to bw pros now.

I second this, but it will never happen. Kespa wants continuity, hence the whole mixed tournament thing and PL being called the same etc etc. They want the fans to look at it as just the next OSL or PL. Which of course doesn't happen, but that's all the more reason for them to keep advertising it that way.
The worst thing will be if some... guy wins it. We'd even be somewhat lucky if NesTea or mvp or MC won it, but the possibility of something like Fantasy -> JangBi -> Fantasy -> Squirtle sends shivers down my spine.

I would love that, would prefer jaedong but efforts a mother fucking boss as well :D.
I just pray JD can qualify at least, same with effort/zero of course ^_^.

I reckon one of the existing SC2 pros will win unless the format is heavily weighted in KeSPA's favour.

As far as I can understand, TLO is the only bigname foreigner who registered. Did the foreigner pros just miss out on a chance in OSL?

kind of funny that kespa players have their own qualifiers, i doubt many (if any) would qualify through normal means.

I wonder if they'd give BoxeR the golden mouse if he wins a SC2 OSL.

I never really watched much BW but I definitely agree with the last part. Seeing some random player, even if hes pretty good, winning OSL just seems wrong.

Isn't this how all great players start off to begin with? Being random players? Bisu was basically an unknown when he destroyed savior. Flash's story is the same.
