You have to provide some kind of evidence/proof (screenshots/replays etc.) if you are going to accuse somebody.
Additionally, a supporting comment of what people should be looking for and when will be necessary if you are posting replays/evidence. |
There's just no real way to tell unfortunately. One things that bothers me is that it would be so easy for Blizzard to google "sc2 hacks" get some maphack that works and release a patch that would make it obsolete. Going out after each and every single hacker seems a little far fetch, but this would really be the best way. Some hackers would keep making hacks for sure (that's what they do lol) but releasing a patch that counters current hacks every like months or 2 would prevent most uninformed users to using such hacks.
I know I've been whining about Blizzard's inactivity a lot in this thread, but it's really the only way we can see significant improvement.

This is easier said than done. If music/movie industry can't stop a normal guy from googling their way to the latest music/ tv episode, what do you really think blizzard can do?
It's really sad but true.

I don't see how you can compare the two. In order for a music company to remove the file, they have to alert the website, have them respond and if not pursue legal action.
Blizzard need to acknowledge the hack and implement software that breaks it. There's a very big difference between downloading something to see/listen to, and downloading something to use that to interact with other software.

And they could monitor for it for like 2 months and then mass ban, so at the very least there is a real financial burden on hackers.

On January 19 2013 04:05 PulseKane wrote:http://drop.sc/296286i posted his replay a while back. here he admits to it
Thank you for your replay.
I have reviewed the replay and there is no evidence of map hacking present in the replay provided.
Within the chat the individual admits having previously hacked, on a different unnamed account. He further notes that the hack no longer functions, and he notes that he does not use a hack currently, specifically with this CHAM account.
The account number is traceable however.
Cham was formerly known as sCztaaar and as isurusCham http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/profile/2680634/1/Cham/ http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/profile/2680634/1/sCztaaar/ http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/profile/2680634/1/isurusCham/
And a search reveals two replays previously posted for this account which were posted into this thread some time ago. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=340614¤tpage=83#1653
There is a good deal of talk about isurusCham however here previously in this thread. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/search.php?q=isurusCham&t=c&f=-1&u=&gb=date&d= Which has provided some a replay (submitted previously by Pulsekane) as well. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=340614¤tpage=79#1570 Which has only 2 points of circumstantial evidence in it, nothing even close to conclusive, and the suspect loses the game badly.
But I do note that Zweigaming has already ruled out the double replay post. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=340614¤tpage=83#1654
and I still do not see any absolute proof of map hacking in the replays. Not even a glimpse, once, through the fog of war.
If anything, hypothetically, its a production tab hack, and only that. So, all in all, from all the replays that have been provided to this thread, for the various accounts, I don't see anything concrete to call hacking.

nice catch, nunez. Is he going to be in the confirmed hackers list of this thread?

Thank you for your replay.
No evidence of hacking present. Scouting probe has rally points set, but probe wanders into Terrans 3rd because of terran wall off at ramp (Bad pathing). Protoss player can determine that wall off occured at this location and as such, the locaiton of the terran opponent. A lack of any other scouting however is suspect, but only this. No hacking present in this replay.
And yes, on Entombed, there is no close by ground (horizontal) spawn locations. Only vertical and cross.

@nunez
I usually trust you without a doubt when you put the "confirmed" tag on someone, but my team just had a cw against another south american team called "OP" (dunno what it stands for) and I couldn't play. When I arrived at my monitor, I saw they used Cham as one of their players. To the best of your knowledge, are you certain it is the acutal Cham on the replay?

@crbox several curses are running through my mind right now. I will refrain.
I covered Cham and his accounts and previous names. He admits that he has hacked on different account. I personally think he used same account and changed name to avoid detection.
Look eleven (11) posts back.
upload replay and I can check if same Cham.

... I don't get the random hostility, I saw your post, just wanted to make sure this was the real Cham not someone using his nickname, that's all.

At any rate, may as well upload the replay.

Sorry, I thought you were just being ignorant and not taking the time to use search. I spend a bit of time trying to help out in this thread.
