TL / DR the entire thread to see if anyone caught this ...
But:
- IF the alpha version of HotS is scheduled for a massive public rollout at MLG Anaheim, and
- They actually DO plan on realeasing a public beta in "the weeks after" the event, then ..
In accordance with standard gaming industry practice - and common sense - that means there are more than a few people out there in the community that are already playing HoTS in a private alpha test leading up to Anaheim.
ie. Probably more than a few of the pro's have it. As well as community celeb types (the Day9's, Wheat's etc).
They most likely got it already lol. Under a non-disclosure agreement (of course)

Was hoping for a major revamp of Protoss (in particular warp gates). So far HOTS is just a few extra units.
Poor form by Blizzard. what this guy said i'm even considering skipping buying hots until i get that "omg toss is actually interesting to play" feeling back i hear Dota2 is pretty good, oh blizzard :o) Man who knew that 2 years was way to fast for an expansion lol...
At the rate Blizzard is capable of nowadays with quality and content, yeah it is lol.

Oh man, oh man oh man! This is going to be great. This beta and I will make sweet starcraft love, it will be beautiful. Mostly I'm excited to give it a try, I hope its good and I'm pretty sure it will be.

I am 100% sure that this is not the case. The only people who are playing it are blizzard employees, and that's it. Celebs and progamers need to wait untill the beta.

For a completely new game yes, for an expansion no it's still not to fast .
Look at sc1 and then bw (bw came out 6 months after vanilla starcraft). With all their other expansion packs they come out within a year (diablo 2 - expansion came out like a year exactly), wc3 july it came out, a year later expansion came out. Seems they like that year mark .

give me beta key, or the squirrel gets it

This is awesome, very very VERY excited for HotS. Only thing I have reserves about is shitty players will be good for awhile. All the current pro's who are at or near the top will continue to play WoL, while the shitty players will start on HotS beta so when the big switch does come, then they have a HUGE advantage over everyone.

You're 100% sure based on what? Do you work for Blizzard?

No, I have common sense. Do you really think that blizzard will give alpha versions to other people then their employees + their family? That's not how it works.

Have they released a date for the actual game to come out?

How does it work then?

well look at it this way. Starcraft 2 is getting a little bit stale in terms of the way players actually play the game. Unit compositions and builds have been found out and worked on and i don't think there is much more different strategies that can be created anymore. The way i see it HOTS will give a new motivation for players that are getting a little bored with this installment. Yes we could argue that if HOTS does not produce in terms of a quality game then it might kill a lot of the starcraft 2 community and the competitiveness it has but on the other hand its a new game and a new thing to look forward to. I just hope that Blizzard don't mess this up.

Alpha versions are available for blizzard employees (and maybe their families, but I am not sure about that). Beta versions are open for the public (open beta) or for invited people (closed beta).

What I really hope is that blizzard brings the zerg and protoss race on the same difficulty-level as terran. Terran units require a ton of micro (= interesting to watch and interesting to play) and the race has a much higher skill ceiling then the other 2 races (imo).
What I fear is that blizzard will make terran more like protoss (mech deathball).

With sc2 being televised in Korea they're going to HAVE to step it up from being fun to play to fun to watch.

Excited to see beta starting soon.

Actually I'm not sure how Blizzard works, but in alpha phase lots of game testing companies could be testing the product as well.

I wasn't around for the beginning of sc2, how do beta keys get distributed?
