by the way, i'll be interview this evening on gamecreds (8pm Paris times). i'll explain how i build this project, why i pick these players etc.... if you have question even if the itw is in french i'll be able to answer your questions!
Awesome editing. The scenes are not that great, indeed, but, once more, very good job with the editing. What kinda killed it for me was the dubstep in the midst of all the awesome music ¬.¬
I saw just the opening and I immediately liked and favorited on Youtube.
Critique: Amazing special effects that match the "themes" you had for each individual player. The opening and many of the player sequences were simply stunning with the attention to detail and distinct "feel." The skills shown in the movie vary widely and many are quite mundane. This is especially true without the emotional connection to such moments; a baneling landmine connecting in the finals of a large international tournament feels different from a ladder game, and this should be made clear by the movie to the viewer (assume the viewer didn't "watch the game" but understands the gravity of the play in such a context").
Unfortunately, the eye candy also seems to be this movie's downfall as is there is an excess of it. The constant shuffling of the themes while impressive, gives the movie too "frantic" of a feel. Some details (a key warp-in of a zealot to block ling/bane into the mineral line could have the zealot flash to draw attention) seem to have been overlooked, or worse, cut out for fear of over-saturating the movie with glitz. Overall, the movie showcases excellent technical ability and imagination of the creator, but unfortunately falls short as a movie due to its lack of strong direction. If the movie maker were to create a movie with a single theme throughout (with the special effects falling in line with such a "goal"), it would create a very impressive narrative instead of a montage of what could be a collection of individual clips glued together.
Looking forward to more from you, this shows some serious talent.
Damn awesome! My only complaint is that it wasn't longer. The editing, sound and screen effects were all so awesome I got sucked in completely only to have to return to my world in a sadden state that it was over.
Wow, that video was one of the best StarCraft II videos i've ever seen, amazing job! especially loved the side view/third person view you used to zoom survey each event.
That was fucking awesome! The clips I thought were actually quite good, and the editing was really good too. I feel like switching the camera view too much is not a good idea though, but the editing was still quite amazing.
I haven't finished yet but THIS IS REALLY SICK AND GOOD
This is even better than the Super 15 thing!
I love the opening, and that cowboy bebop music lol nice.
The features you included are actually awesome to watch! The editing is BRILLIANT. I like the camera is very steady and smooth and you can see a lot of the action.
Im going on the youtube page just to like it and favorite it, there are some many things to say about the video that I wont be able to put into words, it just made me feel like I was in a movie, got me excited and giddy, such amazing work man, good job...
awesome job man. TBH clips were pretty good but you could have dug for some better ones examples i can think of off the top of my head would be MKP and/or MVP marine splits, happy is pretty good at splitting too. lucifer? i think had some amazing drop play with hellions at a dream hack.. uhh parting storm micro is amazing to watch idk there are lots of more "epic" ones than you picked but the editing was A++
People have been doing zoom ins and tilts of normal SC2 footage forever, but your dramatic crane shots redefine the possibilities of highlight reels and usher in a new definition of epic. Incredibly well done!
Siiiikk. Esp. like the Grubby air rescue. Reminded me of StarFox. "Hey Fox! I really suck at this whole flying spaceships thing that's my job. Get these guys off my ass will ya?!"
Very nice edit, didn't like all the plays though. Thanks to this I checked out your other stuff and it's amazing! Please don't stop doing what you're doing.
Looked like one of the old css movies with the exact same effects... Especially the "comic" thingy.. Oh boi sometimes i wish i wasnt into movie graphix too much. I can literally see what tutorials you did follow(or learned from) in order to make certain things. Intro was awesome i rly liked it but the rest is just one effect over the other and the juicy action is overlooked simply by too much stuff shinining at the same time. Also Super 15 gave a good example on how to go about setting up the atmosphere of certain actions which i felt this movie was missing.
Btw im not hater or anything i did watch the whole thing and enjoyed it just because its all about starcraft 2, however there are better pieces out there
The choice of music and camera movement really made those scenes more awesome then they were before. Thank you for this piece of art. Movie makers should take a chunk from you.
Pretty good movie ! =D Like some people said, there was a little too much editing maybe but otherwise it really good =) Small complaint though. ^^ I think it would be really better if you had used clips of better players (like your "Super 15" video), because some scenes like the spine crawler rush were nice, but some top players (IMNestea) did executed those strats just better and in other positions (high caliber tournaments) which made it even cooler.
Wow, that shit was bananas. I LOVED the art style. The whole comic book/Cowboy Bebop thing in the beginning was insane. Plus, you picked a lot of really cool SC2 moments. <3 Polt

That's such a sick hold. I remember when I first saw that I couldn't believe my eyes.
Great editing on the video but as always, the scenes didn't really match the epicness of the editing. Maybe you should ask what scenes to use for the next one Like include a little question in the OP and people can provide you the replays.
This was most likely the most impressive and entertaining video montage/editing for Starcraft 2 I've ever seen. So impressive and cool. Fantastic shots of Polt bunker rush POV and Grubby's stalker chase. Extremely clean and good looking filters, not just a bunch of cheesy random crap that looks like it was done on photoshop.
Hopefully some tournaments hire you to do some promotional videos. Or even professional teams so as to promote themselves, their players or their events. Great job!
Although I am worried that it will eventually be banned from youtube because you used a ton of copywritten music. I love Cowboy Bebop...but I wish you used less-well-known music legally instead.
I have to say the beginning was the best because of the Cowboy Bebop bit, as well as the 'Action Comics' part, but you need to definitely do more of these in the future!
Jesus Christ, you've got some serious skills there, dude.
I mean film editing is one thing, but specific game tones and different kind of action pacing, synched to music... this takes some talent, not skill. The matrix bit was so overwelmingly good it breakes my heart as an amateur movie editor.

Cowboy Beebop revolves around 1ep / 1music theme so I think the author wanted to give this feeling. I do think its a bit overdoing it but the video still is pretty awesome.
It's all thanks to you guys! 3 months ago i was wondering if i continue make movies or should i go get a full time job at the market.... life is crazy. Deep from my heart, thank you guys! coyote.
My friend! Don't listen to anyone saying "Meh, gameplay," those people are simply around to pee on everyone else's parade. This was very well done! A very interesting, cinematic take on some very cool SC2 moments.
Very well done movie. This must have taken an incredible amount of time and effort. The shot that goes through the factory was very nice. You must have spent a long time swinging the camera around in the replays to find moments like that.
