Just cause it's a public chat doesn't mean someone has the right to berate someone else. How would you like it if you had a open party and I go in and call you a cunt. Just cause you're on the internet doesn't mean you can say whatever you want. The person won't get anything close to the penalty that's listed but this type of action in South Korea can be punished. Now lets use some logic here. You're at a bar, you walk up to a random stranger and tell him to fuck himself and continue berating him. What is going to happen to you? You're going to get kicked out(and possibly an ass kicking). The police wont be involved, because quite frankly, that's just straight up silly. Ironically, Jessica has a way to remove people from her chat, similarly to kicking some one out. Strange how it works, right?
What, you think that's how it is in every country? That's how it works in my country, then that's how it works in every country! Surely!
You get jailed when you steal something in some countries, you get your hands cut off in some others.

You don't need to lock people in prison or take huge amounts of money from them though, that's insane. I feel like you don't understand the concept of maximum punishment, this person will literally not get anything close to that at all.
Uh, I understand it quite well. Locking someone up or taking their money over an insult is stupid and evil - however much time or money, I don't care. Grow some skin like every other human being does, and then kick the motherfucker out.

I didn't. All I see is he has constantly been doing this. I also heard some one say the mods couldn't figure out how to ban.

Well, you're comparing apples and oranges. A physical assault can inflict harm on the body. Spamming some illogical nonsense doesn't inflict mental or physical harm.

You're correct, every country is different. This is a prime example of a silly, extreme law, and a person who handled this in the most extreme way possible. Some countries allow a person to physically assault their spouse. Sound like a good law to you? Absolutely not. Stealing results in a punishment of getting your hand cut off in some countries. Is that a reasonable punishment? Absolutely not.

You should treat others with respect especially if they have never done anything to you to deserve such harsh words. It is clear that this is harassment and he should be held accountable for such actions. The internet should not be used as some protective barrier where there is never any backfire on ill intent. The same way racism should be frowned upon in the gaming community so should sexual harassment. It is things like this that alienates females from entering the eSports scene.
I'm glad Jessica finally had enough and put her foot down. She should not be forced to endure such hatred from this guy or anyone else in the eSports community.
On another note, the OP states his initial opinion which sets a very horrible tone for this thread. I'd appreciate if you guys try to see things more clearly through a female's perspective. If a guy was harassing your girlfriend on the internet would you not make a stand for her as well? I'm sure Boxer supports her decision. Sorry to go off on a rant but sometimes people in this community now days makes me sick to think Jessica should be looked down upon for this. Grow up people!
And let's not forget this isn't just a random guy doing a random insult on the internet. This has been happening for awhile and it's always the same person. At this point it is harassment and the guy deserves to be punished. I've been arrested before just for getting in an argument in public with my wife... So if a guy wants to sexually harass someone I don't feel like he should be excused ^_^

honestly, stop. we've been over what we mean by human decency, you're turning it into an grey area when it doesnt need to be. he did not randomly blabber curse words, he explicitly verbally attacked a person.
you need to stop this, you're going in circles.

Sorry but the guy purposely came back over and over again to do the same thing. His intent was clear and malicious, not accidental. God forbid people are held responsible for purposely harassing people, internet or not. Apparently it's illegal on the internet in Korea anyway, so sucks to be him.
