I feel like I've been over this already.
Suffice it to say that I won't be expecting you to apply.

Well good luck with the house in California as well as the casting for NASL

Let's be honest here. Having to find a way to travel to prove how much you want it? If Bitter (or Razer) can't afford travel, that's totally cool. But don't act like it's supposed to prove something. The playing field of opportunity isn't equal for all, especially when it comes to money.
Similarly, making a good video doesn't prove how much you want it. An applicant could have prior experience video editing, have a friend with video editing experience, etc. This doesn't reflect how much an applicant wants the opportunity much at all, even moreso than the travel nonsense.
Neither one of these requirements seem particularly unfair or extreme. The reasoning behind them, however, is bunk.

If someone wants to be in the house badly enough, they will find away to make enough money to get there. Get an extra part time job, sell stuff they don't need, cut back on unnecessary spending. Doing all of these things does in fact prove how much you want to be part of the house.
Ok, maybe a making a video does not prove how much you want it, because these days its really easy to make a video. But not making a video proves how much you don't actually care for the opportunity.
I just wish the house was in the EU somewhere. The US already has the col academy for up and coming talent. Most people outside the US won't be able to justify moving to a different continent just to spend a few months in a house with no other pro players in just to get thrown out with no where to go after your time is up. Obviously nothing can be done about that though as its where Razer decided the house would be best located!

How long in advance do you stop accepting applications before the next round of invites? Like weeks or monthes before June or around there? I am already cutting work down to now play full time and would love to apply for second round just wondering when I should want to have my application in. Also will ya'll be attending MLGs on this side of the country (east) I didn't see you at Columbus I go to everyone I can been to 3 .

For all intents and purposes, I know who the first three will be.
But I encourage everyone to continue to send in apps so that I have a pile of acceptables that I can invite if someone doesn't work out.
Let me be clear: I fully expect to remove people from this house. When the time comes, I want to be able to get replacements in as soon as possible.
Aside from that, every 3-5 months we will rotating old blood out, and new blood in.

So someone who can easily afford the travel wants it just as much as the guy that took the extra measures to gather funds? I'm not saying that he does or doesn't. I'm saying having to pay your way doesn't necessarily prove (or at all show) how much someone wants it.
As for the video, while your inverse is true, it doesn't really say anything at all meaningful about the situation.

will you inform us on your decision to open a room to players? (and also things like how many players allowed in the room, cost, date etc..)

If you're serious about becoming a progamer, Razer is providing those people with a great training environment that is 100% SC2 focused. In addition, they will probably be getting high quality training with other SC2 pros, which you probably can't do at home. This is definitely not for everyone, but I guarantee lots of people would apply for it.

Should offer shorter sessions for people. A lot of the best players in NA are college students so they could possible do a month long stint over the summer or something, but any time longer than that will start to take a toll. Just my 2 cents.

Ah, thanks for reminding me.
At this point I can officially say that while we will be sponsoring three players, there will be three additional beds "for rent".
I haven't settled on an exact number yet, but it will be around $200-$250 per week, non-refundable. 7 days at a time. Nothing less. If you want to come stay in the house, you can, but all the same rules will apply. If I kick you out on day 2, don't come asking for your money back.
I know it's not the same as being there for free, but it's an alternative to teams and players who want to get themselves into a real practice environment.

Sick, even if I don't get in, I can't see not going for a week...
Where in California? I'm from SoCal myself, so if it's not too far a drive...

Then you'll be close enough to come visit.

$200-250 per week eh? I guess that is pretty fair, would the people paying rent be eligible to be promoted officially into the Razer House? Or is it just strictly a pay / train position?
|
Nice layout on the Razer House. I likke it so farr.

Oh, and how long do you think it would take before you actually know you are able to go? For example, if you want to go in the summer, when do you estimate to know if you are able (and allowed) to go? This might be relevant for people who don't live that close to the house

So they pay $250 to stay in the house, and if you don;t like them you kick them out. What the hell? That seems a bit unfair.

No. They pay to train in a pro environment, and I kick them out if they disrupt that environment.
Don't care if it's fair or not......
