MLG has recently been made aware that four of the Korean players who are competing in the Winter Arena, namely FXOLeenock, FXOz, IMMvp, and oGsTheStc, have been scheduled to play in GSL Code A on the night of Tuesday, February 28. The GSL schedule has all four players slated to play before their flights back from the Arena land in Seoul. Unfortunately, the detailed match schedule does not appear to have been announced before the players left Seoul.
The players have told us that they were not informed of the actual match schedule before they left Seoul, and that they only became aware of this development when they landed here in NYC. They immediately informed us, and we began trying to work things out.
The careers and well-being of all of our players are of utmost importance to us and are the first thing we take into consideration. To ensure that they can have the best possible experience at the Arena without affecting their Code A matches, we have booked new flights back to Korea for all four players. We have spoken to all the players and their teams to let them know of the new flight schedule.
Their new flights should arrive in Korea well in advance of the time the players need to be home for their Code A matches. It will, however, mean that the players will miss the MLG Winter Arena post-event celebration. We wish them the best of luck during this Winter Arena and will miss the opportunity to get to know them better after the event.

Well done guys. Wasn't your fault, but you picked up the slack.

Good job, shame about this but I feel the fault is with GSL.

now people will find a new way to complain about MLG and how they're being ripped off because leenock isn't going to be able to accept his trophy. i really hope the community can take this for what it is, and that it is not a crazy big deal.

Gj MLG thanks for letting us enjoy them at GSL also

wow, that's unfortunate.
seems you handled it well though.

MLG trying to be as accommodating a possible. Thats a good thing

Good scrambling by MLG. Must had cost a fortune though. Last minute flights don't come cheap.

Is it weird they only get a few days notice before their code A matches or is this how it's always been?
|
That's a bit ugly but looks like it got taken care of accordingly(good job MLG). Kind of surprised they didn't know the time of their matches before hand, or that their team didn't check out their player's scheduling... I mean if MLG didn't go out of their way to get them new tickets it would be kind of costly.

Meh..... GSL should've done what they did with Bomber vs Rainbow. Have the matches played beforehand and then cast the replays. Not the most exciting way but at least the players don't feel time pressed

couple of thousands of dollars extra due to misscommunication

Code A has been scheduled for this week for ages (exact same format as last time in terms of when matches happen), I guess perhaps they thought they'd be playing later in the week or something.

Thanks for the update It's a pity that that had to happen.

How so? The players are missing just the post-celebration party. Generally with plane tickets, you're able to change the flights without an issue for most airlines.

At least they were willing and able to fix it, and try to repair some their image that they've thrown in the trash. Would hate to see those Korean players punished over something like that.

Nicely done, MLG. Though I'm still pretty pissed about PPV, there's nothing I can do about that.
I feel a bit bad about having the shuffle the players about like this, tbh.
