Area51 Gaming has been a successful gaming organization since 1999. Starting primarily in just the first person shooter scene, we have expanded into the real time strategy arena, specifically Starcraft 2. At first, our team was established through the E-Sports Entertainment of America forums and dedicated players from Team Envy. Since then we have picked up many players and established ourselves a spot in the Starcraft 2 scene through various Team and Lan formatted tournaments.
Being a new team, our players are unknown to the community, but we are hopeful that at our MLG Columbus Ohio showing, our team will become a respectable name and worthy of competing against the top level of professional SC2 teams in North America. Representing our team in MLG Columbus will be “Patrick “Fox” Chang, Luke “Kryy” Clark, and Frederick “Focus” Rivera.” Wish us good luck and make sure to watch us in the future.
“We here at Area 51 would like to introduce the newest addition into our organization and family. We will try our best to live up to the Area 51 name. There is a long road ahead of us, but together the SC2 division is determined to see it through and hope for the best. Thank you for all your support! Please follow us throughout our Starcraft 2 Journey!” - Adam “PenguinMurda” Hartzell (Manager of Starcraft 2 Division)
“I am extremely happy to have found a good home to grow my skills as a player, but to also help my teammates in any way I can. I look at these people whom I play with constantly as a family and I would do anything for them. On that note, I will always try to strengthen this team and keep it together to the best of my abilities. Thank you Area 51 for giving me this chance to lead this team and for having faith in my abilities to do so. Thank you all for the support and I hope you follow Area 51 in its journey in Starcraft 2!” - Frederick “Focus” Rivera (A Team Captain)
“Area51 Gaming has had an amazing 10 year history in the competitive FPS scene. While fps will always be a part of our foundation we have recently broadened our experimenting into the already huge Starcraft II department with the addition of our first team. The Area51 SC2 Division consists of a great mix of players who present a ton of talent who are very invested in the game. They are Friendly, Professional players who are hungry for nothing less than success. While they still have a way to go proving themselves in the LAN scene, they have already proven worthy of competition against notable teams in ESEA Open and other online leagues. We look forward to the future for the Area51 SC2 Division and wish them the best of luck in their endeavors.” - Jager "Jagman" Buss (C.E.O/Owner)
"We’re glad to welcome the current crew we have in StarCraft 2, it was a logical step for us to pick up a team in this game type because of the competitiveness. The time and effort these guys have to put into this game rival and even surpass the time spent by a first person shooter gamer. This dedicated group of talented gamers are fitting the bill of exactly what we envisioned a StarCraft 2 team being when we began discussing the probability of gaining a division like this. I must say we’ve been impressed at the enthusiasm and effort these guys have put into this team and the professionalism they brought along with them. Look to see them at up and coming LAN events representing our professional e-sports organization in professional ways." - Nick "Ares" Sowers (Manager of Area 51 Gaming)
History of Area 51:
Area 51 Gaming is one of North America's oldest professional gaming organizations. Our divisions compete in online leagues as well as LAN (Local Area Network) tournaments every year against some of the best teams in the world.
Area 51 started off as a UT99 team in February of 2002, then branched off to UT2003 and Call Of Duty. We ran Unreal Tournament divisions in North America and Europe for several years. After having excellent Teams in both Call Of Duty and the Unreal series we decided to branch off to play as many competitive games as possible.
Area 51 has gone on to play each version of Unreal Tournament, Call Of Duty and several other past games at the highest levels. We have added top notch teams in Call Of Duty 4, Counter Strike Source, Counter Strike 1.6, Quake Live, Left 4 Dead 2, Day Of Defeat 1.3, Team Fortress 2, Unreal Tournament 3, Modern Warfare 2, Bad Company 2, Black Ops CTF and Black Ops S&D.
You can find us in almost every major professional league such as ESEA, ESL, Cevo, TWL along with several upcoming LAN events worldwide each and every year such as Quakecon, WCG, ESEA, ESL, IEM, Lan ETS, Nerv, PAX, LANchamp Baltimore, Arbalet, LANapalooza, Devastation, GXL and many more.
The team now is owned by Og, Vertigo and Jagman. Three men with some serious time invested in the gaming world and a desire to take Area 51 to the limits of gaming.
Support from Killer Networks (www.killergaming.com), Hurricane Host, and Steelseries
areaSaroVati etc. Unfortunately Battle.net does not let numbers be a part of the name, as can be seen from previous clans like Check6 being xSix and etc.

We have been in the tryout phase and solidifying our lineup for about 2 months now. We have an A and B squad. We were trying to get 4 strong players per race for our A team. It's worked out well so far, Kane, Dream and Sarovati got promoted to GM and everyone else is high masters mmr :D Focus Mind and Strength did well at DC Lan getting to the semis.
hey.. any A51 players gonna get in on the RUNDOWN action soon? Also.. thank you for your support of the imgur Team League! Good to see an familiar team face in SC2! QUAKE 4EVER!

we had a team under the area 51 banner unofficially for 2-3 months or so where we were picking up players and doing tryouts... then with this coming MLG when we knew were sending players and a solidified lineup, we became an official part of Area 51

My bad if i should, just don't recognise any names.
Honestly I dont think you should....but we are trying to change that....all of us are working hard to become known and show what we have....
But from the Team aspect....Area 51 has been around for a while in many FPS games so i feel if you follow FPS games like UT2004 and CSS CS1.6, Area 51 should sound familiar
