The one thing that really bothers me about the snipe change is that it takes 2 full energy ghost to take on ultra's and broodlords in equal numbers as it is. The cost of the ghosts is as high or higher than the units they are countering, and they rely entirely on energy to be effective. But they don't say to the zerg players "don't let them get that many ghosts, quit your whining."

At the same time the standard response given to terrans about lategame TvP and maxed (and re-maxed and re-maxed and re-maxed...) protoss armies is "don't let them get that many colossi/templars/archons, quit your whining." It is frustrating, man.

THIS PATCH LOOKS AMAZING IMO <3

Omfg, the MULE balance, to me, gives the game SO much more of an interesting twist when choosing expansions as Zerg in ZvT, in response to having taken significant damage from Terran. The Snipe change makes SO much sense, its quite simply gorgeous, and I think fits the issue perfectly, able to deal with HTs and Infestors (and Queens, but really, who snipes queens?) while not making it imba in TvZ late game like it has been starting to look. Similarly, the Phoenix change allows more options while still playing safely against Z.

i love how some guys (TT1 for example) say raven hsm is pretty good LOL, show me one present korean pro match where HSM are used / or decide a match. I feel they really have to buff raven now, otherwise tvz is kinda brutal lategame :{.

To be fair, I've seen MVP do that on Daybreak and Antiga cross position. He's the only one to do it consistently though.


Antiga is the other big ' let's split the map up.

Map maker need to make map less half vs half at all cost. It make poor games.

This isn't justification. Several units in Brood War went 5-6 years before they started seeing real use (hello Arbiter and Defiler).

Cloak ghost... run towards SLOWLY moving broodlords. If you can't see infestors scan... you can now see burrowed and a lot more... find infestors.... queue up snipes... goodbye infestors. They can't fungal ghosts when they get sniped. A zerg would have to see you coming and have taken plenty of steps to prevent that. At the same time vikings can be pot shotting the broodlords and forcing infestors to come to the front. This forces the infestors forward and makes them easy targets for cloaked ghosts.

There is nothing wrong with this scenario. I have seen it happen in many tvz games just with usually ghosts sniping EVERYTHING. Now they can snipe infestors then burn energy to lower broodlord hp if they want. But not quite so stupidly op as it was. Being able to queue up snipe on a unit means the zerg has no time to react. The broodlords just evaporate. At least now you run some risk as a terran from broodlords.


By plenty of steps to prevent cloaked ghosts you mean like morph single overseer?

OK, lets for a moment put aside the Snipe change by agreeing that is was pretty much needed blah blah.
Why does Blizzard continue to play the fool upon the whole PvT late game thing and please don't tell me there is no issue there as well. Maybe cause they have screwed up majorly and know it's unfixable, but it's definetely a problem that needs some kind of solution, more of the TvZ ghost issue. I mean the ghost may have a bigger role that the one they intended but that's not such a bad thing, at least not accordingly to the current state of the game / metagame. Still they address it immediately but the won't even mention the TvP issue.
I gues that cant admit that they have fucked up majorly with the design of Toss :/

I am very curious what will not T do against zerg lategame infestor/broodlord/corruptor army (probably die like a faggot).
I am glad that they removed "massing the spellcasters" trend (this is yet to be fixed with infestors). On the other hand they should do something about ravens/siege tanks being fucking worthless. Marine is the only good unit T have in his arsenal.

Why are they messing with TvZ that's been almost 50% for a long time by giving zerg a huge advantage lategame? Snipe was abit too good but it didnt need such a drastic nerf. I honestly dont see a way to win lategame tvz now... win before broods or loose i quess.

Kas used it on his stream the other day, but it seemed to be against an inferior player which he won in the midgame.

Hmm - the mule change was long time incoming
The phoenix upgrade i think is probably better as 5 rather than 6
The snipe change is the big one - it seems a little excessive i was more hoping for an energy nerf/animation time nerf, I don't know... that scroll wheel sniping still might be effective just takes more ghosts I guess

Regarding ravens - I think morrow vs Leenock really showed the powers of using nukes/ravens - ghosts with nukes are incredibly supply efficient. So turtle up-use nukes all day- build up fleet of ravens and HSM/PDD to victory
