It's also a disservice to the players to go from offering GSL entry to simply not. That really means a lot to them. Just think about how happy is the young Korean pro who gets into the GSL for the first time. This is not a decision of great reasoning by any stretch that I can see or conjure, but of fear, being handled with an axe where a scalpel was already used to perfect effect (CoCa's punishment.) You have got to put the Code A spot back in dude! WTH!

Code A slot is just a prize and there is incentive to throw matches for that as with any prize pool in any tournament. I am dumbstruck that you did this to your tournament. Do you still expect all of these professionals to be as interested in this tournament without what most of them were probably playing in it for? Even I as a viewer am much less interested in this tournament as it just lost so much prestige and known purpose for what these players are battling for. A GSL spot is a big deal and it adds tons of excitement and integrity to what I'm watching to know that they are struggling for exactly what many of these players spend their professional lives struggling for as it is; all of their time as a pro player in korea toward a GSL slot. I know how serious they are about that. And I know that it isn't anything like how serious they will be about what's left here, now. You have got to put the Code A spot back in dude! WTH! But wouldn't you prefer a spot to dreamhack or mlg over a code A spot? In terms of monetary value and exposure value, going to dreamhack or mlg for a korean is a much better deal i say. Cause right now, to go to foreign tournaments, if you have to be pretty high up in your team ranks to be sent anywhere, and not even all teams do that. Also, we all know the korean skill level is above the foreigners, think of the better chance they have at dreamhack. So if they end up going farther, they'll get much more exposure and possibly more money. If something like that could be pulled together by Diamond, the ESV will be the tournament to be at ![]()

It comes down to the cost of sending players to foreign events for the Korean teams. With more Korean teams catching on to streaming and foreign events as huge ways to get fans and whatnot, I'm hoping (and in some ways expecting) to see teams have one or two players marked as their foreign attendees (or do how FXO does and work on a rotation).

Hope Orb is interested in casting too. He has to be one of my favorite "serious" casters.

I would prefer a format where you invite current code s players to face off against new talent.

We would love to have all the Code S players play in the weekly if we could. We hope that with the increased prize pool more and more Code S players will find that playing in the Weeklies is worth the time. That what it normally comes down to in a player's mind is the time worth the money they could win. On January 01 2012 22:48 ToD wrote: wow, can i play ? ^^ Yes, Yes you can

You have got to put the Code A spot back in dude! WTH! I don't see it being that huge a deal, and now there is MORE incentive for Code A/S players to play. Like it or not the more Code A/S players the better the ratings (as well as a higher overall game quality). But most importantly for the same reason the GSL needed to cut out "pointless" games even after Naniwa was punished, if you leave a system that is abusable it will be abused. To prevent the abuse you must take out the things that can be abused. Further more for most players, getting into a foreign event being unknown is impossible, where you can go and try the Code A qualifiers every month. Edit: Also actually foreign event invites should be more appealing for foreigners also (sans Jinro) since GOM TV gives ever foreigner and their brother Code A the second they touch down in Korea. The hope is the much increased prize pool will draw more Code S players in. However I would disagree, you will find many a person that is pretty invested in Taeja's dominance in this tourney for one example.
