The thing you have to understand is that you have taken away Naniwa's code s spot. He was going to be in code s --> incidenent happens ----> No seed. For me at least, its gomtv who looks the worst out this occasion. You have to clearer what the rules are and , as has been discussed in other threads, not have these vague rules which gomtv seems to have used against naniwa. Be clear with your rules. Very disappointed and In my opinion, there is a large part of blame for having pointless games in the first place. You seem to purely have reacted according to Korean netizen reactions and not having clear rules, just making them up as you feel fitting.
Sorry Gom, but this is my opinion and don't feel like supporting gomtv right now. Thanks
Did you not read the fucking post?
They specifically said he never had a guarenteed Code S spot.

Thank you very much for the statement and all the details. Hopefully this clears up some of the questions about what happened with naniwa, and stops some of the hate that his fans have now developed towards GOM. I think GOM did the right choice with this and took a stand for what they believe in, and I think I speak for most of the fans when I say that the silent majority supports goms decision on this, and it is only the vocal minority that is up in arms and threatening to not watch GSL anymore.

Seeds to outstanding achievements and they invite sen?? players have way more achievements than sen..

sad story bro... lets not let it happen again right? Gl to both sides

Well-timed statement, especially since QG/Naniwa released one too. With these "official" statements out, I hope people can just take it as the wrap-up to the forgettable incident (for all parties, really) and move on with the future.
Thanks for the statement.

Good statement, the only thing that is confusing is that MLG had a press release where they said Naniwa earned Code S from Providence, GOM is saying this is not the case now. They don't both appear to be on the same page.

I agree completely, and with what incontrol said on SotG. Naniwa made a mistake, and now he knows it. He'll have to show us he's good enough to make it through Code A.
|
Finally a direct message instead of translations. I hope Naniwa will show a better game next time

Fully endorse and respect this. The right call was made. You'll have my dollars and my support this next season, as you always do.
Nani will learn (or he won't) -- it's his choice. Thank you for taking a stand.

Can anyone actually do anything but laugh? After reading Quantic and Naniwa's apology and now GOMTV's statement, how quickly the drama train actually left the station. I can't stop laughing.

So basically GOM was considering giving seeds to foreign players because they felt like it, and they no longer felt like giving one to Naniwa? That's basically uncontestable, it's their decision.

That is probably because factually they are 100% correct.
Having a "pointless" game in the tournament is not "good" but is not part of the issue. Naniwas unprofessional behaviour is.

Besides Puma and Hero who are koreans and Stephano who has stated he has no intention of participating in the gsl, which foreigner would you put ahead of Sen? I'd only say Huk really.

Thanks for the clarification, I'm glad Naniwa can still play in GSL, I'm sure he'll qualify :D!

I think MLG thought the seed was for code s but in reality it was for the Blizzard Cup

The fact that his Code S spot was not "guaranteed" from his 2nd place at MLG Providence (which contradicts several articles written by MLG) makes this much less of an issue for me.
However, I do have a slight problem with this thinking: "What we would like to ask from all of the GSL fans is to not simply see this incident as just a simple meaningless single game between NaNiWa and NesTea. The act of purposefully losing a match, whatever the underlying reasons may be, does always also have a psychological effect on the other players. By tolerating such behavior, purposefully losing might be deemed as a legitimate action and we might see more of such matches in the future, which is something that surely neither the fans nor the players would appreciate."
I think the simple solution to this would be having a system that doesn't have so-called "meaningless" matches. In my opinion, if the players know this, there is no way they will try 100% and reveal their strategies. Should Naniwa have played the game out, even if it was a 4-gate, nexus-first, or 2-gate proxy? Absolutely. However, I do think that the GSL should be sure to use a format where each game has a "purpose." They have already done this correctly during the up-and-downs last season, where "meaningless" games weren't played.

MLG had articles claiming that naniwa gained a code S spots
funny how MLG and GSL have a exchange program with each other but yet they both stating something different regarding the providence seed.

I still want to know why the hell even mlg were saying naniwa had a code S spot and gom didnt say anything and after this suddenly there was no code S spot, looks like just making up rules to get back at him imo.

Well done GOMTV. It is a pity, though, that you replaced one immature kid (Naniwa) by another (IdrA). Naniwa should learn and take positive energy from this, I really hope to see him compete in future GSLs.
