He didn't break any rules according to Mr. Chae's statement aka original post.
GEE, I am not sure if I should trust you more or trust Mr. Chae's statement more. This is a toughy.
So much for the LuLz.

Hilarious! Gom now admits he didn't break any rules, but that they felt butthurt that he forfeitet a pointless game. And all of a sudden they didn't really give him a code S spot in the first place so this punishment really isn't a punishment. He was just being considered.
Does anyone actually believe all the bullshit coming from this joke of an organization?

This is not nearly the same and if you don't see why you might should see a doctor or a person with a working brain.

fine. Just don't lie to the community of your blatant manipulations, double standard morally correct bullshit.

Why didn't GOMTV clear up the misunderstanding with the Code S spot long time ago? Seems convenient that they let that "misunderstanding" flow through the community and only now clear it up.

This is what happens when you have no governing body over a sport. Basically tournaments are given discretion to do whatever they want.

They think they're 100% correct and only blame NaNiwa. Hopefully Blizzard won't give the next SC2 contract to you but to KeSPA. That is probably because factually they are 100% correct. Having a "pointless" game in the tournament is not "good" but is not part of the issue. Naniwas unprofessional behaviour is. And Naniwa takes 100% of the heat and GOMtv none. Naniwa is the villain who should apologize and have his balls clipped. All this did is further empower GOM as a league above all of SC2 esports, intentional or not, and fans/players are willing to sit back and take it. GOM IS NOT AT FAULT. Bitch all you want, but GOM IS NOT AT FAULT. Thats why Naniwa/Quantic made an excuse and GOM is only writing an explanation. GOM IS NOT AT FAULT. Also: The punishment isn't really "hard".. A Korean probably would get a livetime ban for doing something like this... GOM had no rules against it. They had inconsequential matches. This NEVER happened in GSL, because when a match goes 2-0 you don't play the third. The one time it did happen it was blatant match fixing and punished. They hyped the drama towards Naniwa. Naniwa/Quantic are making an excuse because they'll probably never fight with a league to save face with PR, but the fans aren't reserved to that luxury. And I probably wouldn't agree with any punishment a Korean might have received. Losing a match on purpose is against everything any competetive sport is, let alone a professional sport. He even got paid to play this match. If you need a written rule against matchfixing/dropping, i'm sorry for you. No logical competitor would lose a match on purpose unless it didn't count for anything. Besides, Mr Chae doesn't care about competition. You can throw a match as long as it's entertaining; it perfectly fits his twisted definition of a pro gamer that completely encapsulates GOM's financial incentive as a business. Just ask Nestea who said he lost to HuK in an attempt to entertain fans that went wrong.
I'm glad you're in the unique position to psychoanalyze Mr. Chae. Nestea tried to win in an entertaining way and ended up losing because of it... I'm pretty sure he got embarrassed by that. Nani made a statement by refusing to use his keyboard, click all his probes over to his opponents base, and then stared at the screen with disinterest. I don't know what to say if you can't see the difference.

So now they bend the rules to remove players they don't like? Oh great, that's some professionalism right there.

Haha, really, people throw around so much crap and don't have a clue about what they are asking for. KeSPA, as an organisation who have helped e-sports grow and mature in Korea, is GREAT.
But KeSPA is also very strict and overly fucking protective of what they do. Had this been KeSPA, Naniwa would've been banned from any further competition in the GSL in the blink of an eye. So no, you should be thanking your lucky star that KeSPA is not running the show.

So all the news on complexity website, the mlg website etc that NaNiWa earned a code s spot right after his 2nd place were overlooked by gomtv? Are you thinking we are retarded?
addition: I always thought I get to see the best players when i watched code s and wasnt really happy about the exchange programm but bending rules that hard is simply ridiculous. I hope standing by your words means not that little to all koreans and its just mr chae who chose to do so.

It is an exchange program though.

I really fail to see why people are so angry against GSL. Every single argument they use are proven wrong.. Good job GOM, keep the fair play and competitive spirit in E-Sport Starcraft 2 !

Already scores of them do, which is unfortunate. I really hope people see what kind of an organization this is. NaNiWa should have not had his Code S spot revoked.

God, Team Liquid posters yet again define emotional, knee-jerk reactions.

I think the punishment IS reasonable however it feels like a cop out to simple state that the MLG did not award code S seed when it was plastered EVERYWHERE and is a major draw to watching MLG.
I really want to know if MLG even knew this, sounds like they didn't to me.

MLG will invite four Korean pro players to each Pro Circuit Live Competition."

Thanks for making my decision not to ever watch a GOM event again easy. I was going back and forth on it but this post seals the deal.
Also, I love how in GSL October Up and Down group C you didn't have the last two matches played because they wouldn't have effected the result but you go ahead and have Naniwa and Nestea play under the same situtation. GOM showing who the true joke trounament is.
