I am not too surprised that this has happened since naniwa's statements are questionable sometimes (or just socially awkward). It feels like he has a habit of not thinking too clearly before saying something. Of course, this can also be taken out of context by some journalists. In all, this should just be buried soon since it will just go in a circle. I think naniwa just needs to drop the whole 'everyone is out there to get me" attitude and just think what he is going to do.

Edit: The sports analogy of sending out your second squad doesn't really hold any weight. If your usually on the bench your going to play your heart out so you can get recognition, there is the same amount of effort being put forth by the players in each case, whether they are usually starters or not.

Will the Packers, if they are 14-1 going into their last game, start all their top level players and play simply for the fans? No, because the game simply doesn't matter, and the outcome doesn't matter either. People can chill out. You're only seeing this from a westerners perspective. Try not being ignorant for once.

I had no problem with what he did but that's a good point you got there. If I had a change to play someone like Nestea, a three time GSL champion, I would consider it a freaking honor, not matter the situation. But maybe he gets to play him on ladder and stuff like that? Still, good point.

at the very least just tier the 4th/5th prize money by a few hundred bucks... boom problem solved. can't blame Nani, tilted and feeling like shit, for not wanting to let his fans down again by losing a 4th game especially when he had no reason to play. This kind of thing happens all the time in tournis, players are just a lil more subtle usually (1 base all in/proxy cheese) But whatever, dood had a shitty day and wanted to just end it and go home, he still has Code S to worry about, I really don't see the issue. Blame the format not the player. Also: Choya's tweet was pretty uncalled for, that's very insulting for a player who works as hard as nani... same for MVPs tweet-- want to talk about professionalism

The Packers would be resting players to avoid injuries for later games, also the opponent might be trying out rookies to evaluate for the future. Naniwa's probe rush served no purpose for long-term goals like the Packers/or losing opponents other than pure selfishness.

I wouldn't be surprised if Nani is unofficially blacklisted out of everything down the line.

As someone has said, and as i have said, look at the the controversy/PR/entertainment this has got. For GOM to say they will never invite him is the same as shooting themselves in the foot, i mean think of how much hype korean v naniwa matches are going to get now..why would you say such a harsh thing, why not something like, "we will be modifying our rules to take actions such as this into account when inviting players to tournaments" then you aren't even singling Naniwa out and it sends a message to ALL progamers, not just Naniwa. The way they are handling this is simply singling him out which is WRONG. It is the act that people are mad about, not the person. Once again, Terrible decision that was not smart. You have lost my support GOM.
