So you can be disqualified for "invitational tournaments" because the viewers didn't like your behaviour? Shame on you GOMTV... if you read the actual twitter post, he mentioned that nani won't be invited to invitationals. it has no effect on things he can qualify for, such as the main GSL tournament. how is that a problem?
I guess it just means that you can NEVER please everybody.

Players in other professional sports are judged and paid on statistics, leadership and ability to win (among other things). For the 0 and 13 colts, none of the games left this season matter to them and barely matter to the teams they play. However the colts players and coaches will still try their absolute hardest because there is a substantial amount of money and job secruity on the line if the players play well and the coaches prove they can coach well.
In golf, the out of contention players get cut from a tournament. In tennis there is no tournament system like this. This result is a complete product of Format of this Blizzard Cup. The amount of money gained doesn't change, there is no official world ranking at stake, there is no team invite or tournament invite that is being gained or missed by winning or losing, this game was a free showmatch.
Should Naniwa have probe rushed, no, even he said this. Should we blame him, no. Blame the tournament and its dumbass format. Pros don't throw games on showmatches.
Oh but they do ! Even the korean players (like NesTea) played "fun tactics" in showmatches before one GSL final and thus lost to foreigners who played seriously then.

I guess he couldn't just forfeit. Seems a little similar to Idra rage =)

my question is...how will StarTale respond to this??? Will their Korean players still practice with Naniwa as much as before? Will they still welcome Naniwa?? Or will they do what MVP did and ignore him?

I've gotten the feeling GOMTV cares extremely little for its non-korean audience anyways. There are tons of examples of this (I think most viewers know this).... obviously they get most of their money from koreans I suppose, but don't act as if everything is so "international" then >_>!

I totally understand his decision, and think it was also a nice snub to what I consider an inferior format (Bo1 group matches are sooooo fickle, and deprive us of good games [though today's were GREAT]).
Also, I'm still pissed that Stephano just barely didn't qualify as his play is so unique and I think that seeing him versus Koreans would be the ultimate treat and a great display of foreigner skill. umm he did qualify, he just didnt advance

slayers_boxer would have never let this happen.
lost some respect for nani today

They gave us an english cast, free stream, revised quite a lot of their showtimes to be more reasonable to NA (used to be 2am-5am EST), they brought their finals here, they allowed inclusion of winners from foreign tourneys into the Global Invitational, they changed their pricing structure due to feedback from not only their community but ours, they changed their tournament structure for the next year with the same reason, they ran ads to reduce the ticket costs, they allowed Twitchtv to broadcast their Global Invitational games, they gave invite spots to foreigners in the Code A and S, they respond quite cordially via twitter and their forum, and Mr. Chae is really cool to meet.
Tons of examples otherwise, thank you.

Nani spreading some truth, people need to calm the fuck down. The funniest part is that people would have been perfectly fine with him just 4 gating, and now lets be honest that also had no chance of winning vs nestea on antiga shipyard...

Ok you are indeed right, it was great that they come to Blizzcon which was really cool.
I was just thinking of the International stream not having their own production, always missing out on information they show in korean only (which you always see on the projected wall behind the castors), random people moving about behind the commentators, such as the camera man who always sits there, throwing up random stuff on screen that the castors has to commentate.... ANYWAYS I didnt want to mention it here since its quite off-topic .. but I needed to reply : ).
Never mind! I love Mr. Chae and all hes doing for us.

there are better ways to "spread some truth" than how he did it. he could have easily played and said something in the interview after.
last time i checked, the correct way to complain about something isn't to piss on it in front of an audience.

yeah shame on him for being a human being and making a mistake when he was extremely disappointed to be out of a major tourney, people are fucking gross, fuck this drama over nothing

I really hope ST understands why he did what he did, I'd hate to see his practice schedule suffer because he decided to probe rush instead of 4 gate...

Well, in my opinion this actually IS a big deal.
Naniwa had "screen time" and exposure in one of the bigest events of the year!! Furthermore this was a game against one of the best, at least mostly hyped, players in SC2!!
So in the end he has an obligation to his team quantic (as well as his fans) and should have just tried his best, despite the bad mindset. bad move nani....
