Well my situation was, the people to advance have been confirmed so I turned GOM off because I figured well Nestea and Naniwa won't be playing and I've had more TvTs than I can stand in my lifetime, but then my friend who was watching said that they are playing a match. Pretty pointless but I'd like to see it anyway. Then he said before I had turned it on that I have to see what's happening right now! So I turn the stream back on to see the probes go in and die, I laughed my ass off. Now before you get the wrong impression that I'm some sort of Naniwa sympathizing asshole that BMs people on ladder all day every day, I'm not, in fact I've either only been well mannered or even helpful if asked. I figured with this situation, fair enough, who gives a shit if they're not going to advance anyway, but apparently a lot of people do. WHY? A lot of you really need to chill out.

Progamers (and athletes, etc...) are entertainers.

This was hilarious. I'm entertained.

Nani is right. People who feel like the sacred tradition of progaming has been disrespected and tarnished need to get over themselves.

as a Korean, I can only see this in one perspective.
maybe it's the culture difference but
seems absolutely ridiculous to me that a player would do something like this and should be harshly criticized for it. (this is irrespective of the player's nationality of course.)

With regards to NaNiWa playing to win:

A lot of the times, Progamers make most of their income from their team, from streaming, and from sponsorship deals. A lot of the times, tournament winnings are just a bonus.

Its not even about a sacred tradition. Its about being professional. Nani needs to realize there is more than just playing games to being a pro-sc2 player. This is just another thing to add to the list. You have major organizations that won't even touch this guy, despite being amazing at this game. That speaks volumes about him.

Naniwa didnt attack his own units and he didn't leave the game before it was over so your comparisons are moot.

Not disqualified. They just won't invite him anymore. They can decide who they invite based on whatever they want, that's why it's called invitational. I personally appreciate that GomTV is strict with those things.

That is very unfortunate. I will NEVER watch another GOM cast or give them my money again because of this. If you want to know why, please see my post on page 30.

if you read the actual twitter post, he mentioned that nani won't be invited to invitationals. it has no effect on things he can qualify for, such as the main GSL tournament. how is that a problem?

I booed Nani after the thumbs down incident at MLG (I was there in person), and later cheered him for his good mannered loss to Leenock in the finals. I totally understand his decision, and think it was also a nice snub to what I consider an inferior format (Bo1 group matches are sooooo fickle, and deprive us of good games [though today's were GREAT]).

Also, I'm still pissed that Stephano just barely didn't qualify as his play is so unique and I think that seeing him versus Koreans would be the ultimate treat and a great display of foreigner skill.
