note: 1. StarCraft II lastest version : 1.4.2.20141 2. language files can only be changed from your local to english/chinese 3. backup your files first, if problems exists, just replace them back 4. if new patch coming, must change it back before updating your client 5. this tool will obviously change you original client files and no one will be responsible for it

Very nice! I do wonder why we never have a program like this in the anglosphere?

I only know of the one that requires physical file swapping?

yeah, if you wanna change voice files, you have to prepare them(too large) before.

Is there any chance of a simple english translation? I like it
|
On December 06 2011 18:46 doomed wrote:Is there any chance of a simple english translation? I like it
which part you wanna be translated? if you just want to use your english client playing on TW/KR server.just 1. type 'y' into main menu 2. type '2' switching BN server 3. type '124' if your client language is 'en-US' 4. type '134' or '135' 5. type 'y' to confirm default server changing
switching default server just changes some region code (from 'en-US' to 'zh-TW'), You can do it yourselves by using MPQEditor. like:
*note: backup
1. Mods\Core.SC2Mod\zhTW.SC2Data this file can be copied from '星际2语言转换工具1.6.20141\data\Core\'
2. Mods\Core.SC2Mod\Base.SC2Data\ProductLocale.txt enUS --> zhTW
3. Versions\Base19679\patch-en-US.SC2Archive make one copy of this file, rename it to 'patch-zh-TW.SC2Archive' open it by mpq editor, \Mods\, extract all 'enUS.SC2Data' & 'enUS.SC2Assets' folders (remember each position) rename these folders from enUS to koKR open each zhTW.SC2Data\BlizzardComponent.xml, <name>zhTW</name> put these files back to 'patch-zh-TW.SC2Archive'
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/uqnoy.png)
4. \Documents\StarCraft II\Variables.txt (ex.windows 7) localeidassets=zhTW localeiddata=zhTW
you dont need to delete or replace any files on step 1&3, if you want to switch back to NA server, just repeat step 2&4 'koKR --> enUS' .

okay so i'm new to the whole translation and relocalizer thing so don't hate me too much. I've got a tw/kr account and client and the na account and client. i can play on both off the same account and everything and i can deal with the language being chinese. will this (or any relocalizer that's up to date) let me play on the tw/kr server with the english voice and sounds? I used girlscoutcookies relocalizer and i don't think it's up to date so it didn't really work. Is that what the relocalizer actually does, or just makes it so i don't need to dl the kr/tw client to my computer?
I know i make no sense and sound like i have special needs, but i've seen people like destiny and minigun using relocalizer before jumping servers and i never paid attention really to see if their language changed too. Liquid'tyler changed his kr in-game language to english and everything using some program, but it wasn't the relocalizer that destiny and minigun were using. can someone please clear this up for me in really dumb down terms? (maybe not too dumb down, but not crazy computer language plz)
thanks in advance if anyone could decipher what i just wrote

Aside from the slightly more colourful GUI, this looks like a translated version of the old system

"will this (or any relocalizer that's up to date) let me play on the tw/kr server with the english voice and sounds?" yes
"so i don't need to dl the kr/tw client to my computer? " yes
just do what i have already said, 1. type 'y' into main menu 2. type '2' switching BN server 3. type '124' if your client language is 'en-US' 4. type '134' or '135' 5. type 'y' to confirm default server changing
and if you you wanna back to NA server, do it again,
i dont play that minigun game, but this tool wont dump anything, just an easy way to help you copy and past some words (from en-US to zh-TW) and one TW client local file (zh-TW.SC2Data). 100% safe...

this would work with the eu clients as well right?

Some questions:
1) Will I need attached SC2 to my account to connect with that server? 2) If my account has SC2-Started Edition, will it allow to play on any server but wilh full access?

How does it work with EU clients?

thanks! I was using a localizer that wasn't up to date with 1.4.2 and it kept messing up and only did the words in the menu so i was wondering. thanks again

if you mean switching between servers, yes, it works.
how does it work? you will find 'enGB.SC2Data/enUS.SC2Data/koKR.SC2Data/zhCN.SC2Data/zhTW.SC2Data' these five files in'星际2语言转换工具1.6.19679\data\Core\' folder. These files comes from 4 different servers, 5 different clients. 100% origional, official, no touched. You can even check them with your local file in'\StarCraft II\Mods\Core.SC2Mod' if you like. why we need replace them, because each server will check them weather you are using the 'right' client when you login.
and rest work is just renaming some files or content from 'enGB' to 'zh-TW', etc. Easy understand?

i dont understand. this is just an easy switching tool. it wont help you to get permission to access any server. so you must have that 'available' account, whatever edition.

do same steps, just change some rigion code, like 127 enGB 128 frFR ... 133 itIT

: ) it works for you? And don't froget to change it back before next patch updating.
|
omg, i think maybe you will make some misunderstanding. if you succeed switching server once, you dont need to do it again before the game. or keeping the tool window when you playing. It's not a plugin or something like that. you can just delete it if you won't use it again.

the chinese scene is exploding pretty hardcore you look at sc2ranks and its 80% china lol

I'm a little confused on where to click to actually download this thing, the website has a lot of bright buttons.
I'm also wondering if I get a whole new set of placements on KR server using this method? And is it really condoned by blizzard? seems like it kind of bypasses there whole 1 copy per account method.

well i had a problem with the mpq editor as it was doing its thing and when i log in every button is just blank

lol, this tool will only switch the client default server and won't help you to 'login' any server. ex. you have a NA client, this tool will change some key words, making your NA client pass though TW/KR server checking. But you need have a passport, a key, a permission...

what do you mean 'log in'? which button? Mpq editor or SC2 client interface? if you are not good at that i recommand you just use this tool.

i mean when i logged into starcraft 2. i wanted to switch from english to korean, i followed all the steps, but there is one more window after you say what language you want to change and it had a y/n function on it, and i assumed it was asking if i wanted to confirm and so i hit y and enter, and then the problem ran some cmd windows and was changing the files. then it had an error and went unresponsive. then when i logged in, every button in sc2 was blank but announcements were in korean.

Silidons, "when i logged into starcraft 2,.....", you mean you are running SC2 when you open the tool? omg, it surely will be an error, how could you modify files when you are running it?
Do you remember that error message? There should be any log file under the folder, what did it say? Check your game folder, weather these ko-KR.xxxxx files been created?
If no 'koKR.xxxxx' files exists, I suggest you to try that again. Or you can DIY these files by mpq editor, as you customized your BW, i think it's very simple for you to do that: *note: backup
1. Mods\Core.SC2Mod\koKR.SC2Data this file can be copied from '星际2语言转换工具1.6.20141\data\Core\'
2. Mods\Core.SC2Mod\Base.SC2Data\ProductLocale.txt enUS -> koKR
3. Versions\Base19679\patch-en-US.SC2Archive make one copy of this file, rename it to 'patch-ko-KR.SC2Archive' open it by mpq editor, \Mods\, extract all 'enUS.SC2Data' & 'enUS.SC2Assets' folders (remember each position) rename these folders from enUS to koKR open each koKR.SC2Data\BlizzardComponent.xml, <name>koKR</name> put these files back to 'patch-ko-KR.SC2Archive'
4. \Documents\StarCraft II\Variables.txt (ex.windows 7) localeidassets=koKR localeiddata=koKR
you dont need to delete or replace any files on step 1&3, if you want to switch back to NA server, just repeat step 2&4 'koKR --> enUS' .

Could anyone rehost the file?
The file takes ages to download from that site. My download was halfway finished and it decided to stop all of sudden.
Thanks in advance!

Do you remember that error message?
Just need to bump this, sorry. This same thing happened to me, I have a TW client I want the language to be in Korean, so I ran the program, as far as I can tell I did everything right but while the program was swapping the files it went 'Not Responding' and said it needed to close, which I'm guessing essentially cut it off half-way through its business. Here's some screen shots of the error and Starcraft 2 afterwards. (I didn't have Starcraft open when I ran the program.)
+ Show Spoiler +
Edit: Right after I made this post I moved the files to what I guess was the right file, the program ran without any errors or anything but it still makes the buttons in Starcraft blank.
|
Wasn't there another Chinese program that does this? I remember it actually had a pretty nice GUI and everything.

Read the 'note'2, you just can't do it. There is no any korean language files in it at all. Did you backup your files before you done it? if so, just copy/past them back and run the tool again (*this time form korea to TW).
If you dont like your TW interface, maybe you can change it to en-US.

yeah, but it includes some cheating functions and the author stopped updating. I think it is not good to post here.

Would this allow me to play on my original server, NA, in Korean language?
|
On January 03 2012 12:09 Dymond wrote: Would this allow me to play on my original server, NA, in Korean language? No, because it doesn't have any Korean language files. You can add them by yourself, but it's complicated.
Or, you can just use korean client, then use this tool switching to NA server.

Could anybody who downloaded it rehost on overseas servers like mediafire, etc? It's so slow :X
|
|
The version is old, and somewhat NOT working. The menu is different, so understanding any of it is hard and/or close to impossible. Could you upload the newest version to something like filefront, mediafire, dropbox etc...

If I have enGB, can i switch language to tw ? Because If i try to switch server or switch language to tw (not to kr or else), it says that mpq editor has stopped working and shuts it down..

yeah, mine is enSG, switching language is good.
when you run the tool, did it show the right infos (about your system, game version and folder etc)? You'd better extract it to you game folder and turn off the game.
I suggest you to backup your language files before you do that. If problems exist, you can easily fix it....
|
Is this only for switching language not server? I tried switching servers with it, and it screwed up my SC2
|
So.. I have starcraft enGB, I would like to keep playing on EU server but with text & voices in chinese. I have tried 1 127 136 9 127 136 but it is stil in english, what do ?
