Anyway, great interview my only gripe is I was at work so I had to listen and not watch.. trying to shrink/open/shrink/open to see the questions was annoying! I just stopped and figured out the question based on his responses hah.

As was stated, LoL has the benefit of the free-to-play model. So more people understand it and are aware of the game combined with the stream being featured in-game upon login. LoL is certainly popular, but relatively speaking it hasn't really tapped that community as well as SC2 as worked with what they have. Also, from my understanding, the Moba community in general is split pretty heavily between HoN,LoL,Dota and Dota2 plus any other derivatives I am missing.

For sure we would have massive increase in viewer count. Fact is LoL has every day much more stream viewers than sc2 has. Without any big tournaments or announcements by Riot. It has simply the bigger player base. Sc2 fans should not always try to talk other games down, they can nicely exist next to each other.

Players who don't open it up don't count.

I can't believe this rumour is STILL going around. You can't watch lol in the client. There's a news feed, just like when you log into battle.net, however the lol news feed is regularly updated. That being said, I wish blizzard would do a better job of posting when tournaments are coming up.

I just stopped and figured out the question based on his responses hah. Why is LoL such a terrible game? I guess I should first say that I play LoL (and obviously enjoy it) but I do not feel it is a good spectator game... but I also feel dota 2 is also not a good spectator game (well technically I am referring to the original dota, but dota 2 will be very similar). Yes Dota 2 will come out with more and better features than what LoL is currently working on (they recently came out with a spectator mode) but I don't see why that will make dota 2 a good spectator game all of a sudden. + Show Spoiler + It won't On top of that, I love Valve, I played Dota for a few years, I enjoyed it for the most part, and I will very likely play Dota 2 (especially if it is free to play, which seems like the best idea for making plenty of money while increasing its popularity quickly) but in the end I am disappointed that they didn't try to tweak and improve the Dota formula in any way, and therefore I think that there is no way it will be a significantly better game to watch than LoL is (other than graphically).

Some good questions; overall it was a lot of high level generic responses but i enjoyed hearing it. He's got a plan and that is the good part. Also, recognising the format issues is a big deal ![]()
