very good interview. he answers well and not in an overly media-trained way, it's good that he seems to recognise the limitations and faults of their product even though they are imo currently the market leader, and that standing still is not the way to go. i look forward to the improvements they'll make in 2012

Great interview, interesting to see the insight of a tournament through the organizer standpoint.

This interview is fantastic! Sundance really seems to "get it". This makes me very excited about the future of the MLG and eSports in general.

I'd really like to see what happens in 2012. Here's hoping for Canadian events!
You know what unit really has balance problems? Colossi. Why, they look like they could be blown over in a stiff wind!

If players were the only ones watching, LoL would win no contest. So they do - today.

Hopefully SC2 will attract people who don't actively play as well, like BW did in Korea.

They need to give Naniwa some media training ^_^.
Didn't know they actually did that, not suprised if they did it with T2.

So happy see MLG grow :D. Its been making me lose sleep since 08/9 :D

I'm guessing the transitions were awkward, but I really like seeing the interviewer as well. Good I/V!

Two things I really liked about the interview:

1. Sundance saying that the way to go for e-sports is not converting the masses but organical growth with the new generations.

2. The hint at regional competitions that lead up to the global competition.
MLG needs regional qualifiers that gives people spots and possibly travel money for the big event. It just sucked that travel stipends were given in a quite random fashion, and to Koreans only. Europeans just stopped coming except they had spots in the pools.
Regional qualifiers would bring more games and more fairness, as well as the opportunity to have regional champions.

Agreed, very exciting. I'd love to see guys like Dimaga show up to more MLGs for instance; qualifiers is a great way to diversify things

I'm also excited about plans to ensure players are rewarded for successful runs, and players who don't perform will no longer have a monopoly on pool spots.

I watched the entire interview and your vision of MLG is ambitious and I hope it works out in your favor! I watched Championship Sunday and enjoyed the event as a viewer. Hopefully MLG comes to Canada in 2012!

Would love to see more from Sundance re: different distribution channels. For instance, does MLG plan to use Youtube or Twitch as a primary partner in 2012, or is that just a secondary channel (and the main content comes from their own site). Why should MLG try match the quality of streaming when partners with much more experience could potentially do it much cheaper?

Managing different ways of delivering content to the consumer is the 2012 frontier.

Good interview nonetheless <3
