I'm around halfway through, and he seems to keep hinting at new MLGs next year. I'm interested in seeing where they go from here.

Hmm Sundance said something about 185 million of bottles of dr pepper. I didn't really understand that. What did he say?

One of their Halo players Tsquared was on bottles of Dr.Pepper in 08/09 to raise awareness of mlg.
LOVE what Sundance is doing, have been following MLG for years and it keeps on improving, 2012 is looking to be incredible!

Interview was cool, but having to read the questions sucked. I don't want to stare at Sundance for 20 minutes... I have better things to do.

Thanks for the interview!

surprised to hear about 90k LoL viewers just as they started up, I wonder what was LoL's and sc2's highest peak

Great interview, answers for future expansion understandably vauge and otherwise nice to hear about a side of esports that is often skimmed over.

The thing that really impresses me about this guy is not only his eloquence in answering the questions, but the general scope of MLG's plans with SC2. The bit about NOT converting people but instead creating an environment that raises young'uns into Esports sounds brilliant.

I'm glad that one of the heads of arguably the most legitimate Western Esports scene is a pretty level-headed guy and not some money-grubbing douche.

I would like to see more in-depths interviews by MLG of the players - shown specifically during the tournament so that more of a personality is formed from each of the players. Even though it was basically fictitious, the Naniwa-Nestea drama was one of the most interesting "rivalries" in SC2 to date, and it was only known because Artosis decided to tell the viewers. If MLG could facilitate more public interviews, things like these would be more frequent and thus make an MLG viewing experience that much better.

wouldn't the new surge of barcrafts take a big dent out of the concurrent viewers? like for e.g Montreal barcraft i hear is 1500 ppl, thats 1500 views potentially .. Lots of people get together and watch from 1 view so i not sure why hes aiming for a specific viewer number.

as long as they get the numbers from the barcrafts, it's not problem for them to add them up. 1500 people bunching up in a bar to watch MLG is probably even more interesting for sponsors than 1500 running streams from people at home (who might be or might be not at their computer).

I think its better for the sponsors because if there are people together while an advertisement then people can talk about it and be like "oh wow i really like hotpockets, do you?" and this conversation erupts about it. Rather than 1 person at home not giving a shit about the sponsors becuase its taking up their time from watching a starcraft game.

Yea, and also because one guy watching a stream at home can hit the 'mute' button every time a commercial comes on or switch to another window or something, but you can't mute the tv in a bar. So this guarantees that the commercial is actually on and being watched/listened to. And if they can get more and more sponsors, they won't have to play the same 5 commercials over the course of the entire weekend, which would mean that fewer people would be muting the stream because they don't want to watch some dumb bitch be a "Lady Cop" for the thousandth time.

Thank you SO much for asking the "Sex sells" question. I've been harping on this all over the place and I'm happy that he addressed it. At there were no female hosts this tourney, which I think is awesome. And they're interviewing guys for some position, I'm guessing as interviewer/hosts. Is there any way you could reply with what the actual question was?

really like what he was saying about getting exposure to the players, and how 18 days over 10 months isnt enough, which i agree with. MLGs trying to become more GSL like i have a feeling, which i like a lot.

Wow, every one of these interviews Kennigit does gets better than the last!

I'm a little annoyed Sundance couldn't tell us more about next season, but I understand why they want to wait.

I have to say, he really comes off as someone who truly understands the Esports community and what we want to see. Very excited to hear more about next season!
I like the way the walls go out. Gives you an open feeling. Firefly's a good design. People don't appreciate the substance of things. Objects in space. People miss out on what's solid.

Geez he gave some good answers. Shows he knows the deal.

I particularly loved his answers at around 15 and 17 minutes. The whole growing ESPORTS for future generations as opposed to trying to convert people, and the bit about needing a structure in place for the US scene so these guys can actually be full time and treat it as such.

Really good interview. Bring on 2012~!

I'm glad we have someone as smart and involved as Sundance leading the charge at MLG. The guy knows what he's talking about and actually cares about seeing esports grow. Can't ask for better than that.

Very very interesting.. The competitions heating up and i was beginning to think IPL was going to leave MLG in the dust, but the recent MLGs are keeping up, and i'm looking forward to 2012. Seems like mainstream esports is becoming more of a reality very quickly.
