I just can't believe what I'm seeing here. Pictures of Tastetosis hanging out with Gus...a crooked tourney that took place...people who got swindled...wow.
It just brings total reality just crashing back down. First we hear about players not being paid by ESL, now we're seeing things like this. Tastetosis I don't know if you'll ever see this, but if you do, I just need to say something here.
When you are approached by people who are charming, super nice, and you've got some part to play in something they're organizing, you need to listen with your ears as well as your heart. There are people in this world like Gus who will ply you with alcohol, charm you etc, in order to get what they want from you. Not to mention the international "wow" factor too, which may have blindsided you.
But as soon as your usefulness ends, the charm falls away and dissapears. You guys were used. This didn't benefit anyone at all. Anytime there's ambiguity or different people saying different things about even things as basic as the prize pool, something very fishy is up. The devastating turnout of the tournament, the apology from IPL...guys I really hope to hear something from you two.
For the record you two will remain my favorite two casters and I will continue to purchase GSL tickets because I love the GSL. I just want to hear something from you guys.

that was one of the things i didn't quite understand so I didn't highlight it in the OP

Was promised the flight but never got it.

You should read DOX's Blog you'll see that Gus Scammed YJY out of a Flight While trying Bribe MoonGlade to Take YJY's Spot in the Tournament. http://www.teamliquid.net/blogs/viewblog.php?topic_id=283600

this is a pretty huge claim
can we see some proof?

pbj, ownership of the ticket lies with the buyer, not who the ticket is for. Think of it like corporate travel. If your business is sending you overseas, the ticket is "for you" but its the company who owns it, since they've paid for it.
So apparently AZK bought tickets for Cube, but then cancelled them, getting refunded and then replaced the cube players with AZK players.

this is a pretty huge claim can we see some proof? this was also proven false
someone at the tournament (not affiliated with AZK) has said that the brackets were chosen randomly and the first bracket that was on TLPD was just a guess.

They didn't replace Cube players with AZK players. The Cube players all lost due to default though, and this led to 2 members of AZK auto-advancing cause of Group E( which had 2 players from Cube and AZK).

It's actually quite sad.
Just pretending that the other stuff didn't happened, there are still other issues.
1. Why did they schedule the event on a weekday? If they were expecting funds to come in from the audience, this should have been set on a weekend. The influx of people near the end when Tastosis was about to cast past 5:00pm (time in the philippines) is the time most offices end the workday, which meant, they just had curious passersby peeking and looking at the action/commotion.
2. Why did they place it GAC? A cheaper venue/event's place? This should have been at Annex like WCG held last week in Quezon City.
3. Why didn't they have dedicated internet? They were sharing with the mall's ISP for crying out loud!!! Quite frustrating to watch. I would have expected to have at least lag free streaming coming from the Phils myself but that wasn't the case.
4. Why were they using crappy hardware? The mics alone for the casters. Couldn't they have provided headsets with mics? It's like they are going to sing tunes holding the mics so close to their faces. Also, if others didn't notice, MKP's unit when he fought against FXOwhale actually had a memory problem in game. Memory was low. It felt like they used 2nd hand old units instead of brand new/updated units.
I do think this type of event should have been done either in Singapore, Australia or Malaysia. But certainly not in the Philippines because of just infrastructure problems to show it to the international community. Maybe in the future (quite doubtful) but not right now.

So apparently AZK bought tickets for Cube, but then cancelled them, getting refunded and then replaced the cube players with AZK players. half true. the two azk players in group e was given walkovers over the other two cube players as the cube players were not there. cubesalt in the below link alleged that they were not given flights to attend as promised it seems. http://www.sc2sea.com/showpost.php?p=44590&postcount=35
while the situation about the flights is similar to that with yyj, they were not replaced.

I just don't like it when people base their opinions on false facts or come to conclusions that don't make any sense. This wasn't my intention.
