Hello, everyone. My online alias is "ecco" and I have been collecting replays from the last few months. These replays entail mostly fairly passive, macro based protoss play. There will be some though which will revolve around timing attacks and the rare cheese. Overall, these are some of the highest quality games that I have accumulated over the past months so I thought I'd share them.
This replay includes games with well known players such as, blackcitadel (startalerainbow), colcatz, colminigun, colrsvp, colryze, dragon (slayersdragon), egincontrol, nony, nrgluckyfool, nrgostojiy, vpainuser, vtavilo and other, lesser known players.

I hope that people will enjoy the games and hopefully be able to learn some things as well.
Also, if you enjoy my games and style of play, I stream at "twitch.tv/thebts" with some commentary so be sure to check it out if you wish to see more of me.
Cheers, ecco

these replays look good, would it be possible for you to zip them up into one file so I can download them all at once? that would be very helpful but nonetheless thanks for uploading them
|
Nice, will have to watch. Have to aggree with DropTester though, would be easier if you could zip it up and download all at once.

I edited the replay pack link to make it cleaner.

Hey there thanks a lot for this package. I've been having difficulty with PvZ so I checked out yours and was pleased to find some consistency. I just have some questions about your 1 gate expand play.
1) You spend your chronoboosts trying to get as many sentry out before warp comes - do you find this is necessary for defending against certain plays?
2) Why do you opt not to get hallucination? Is the extra sentry really necessary? You play in the dark for quite awhile.
3) After you get 3 gates and a forge up, you grab a TC and a RF. On larger maps you seem to favour a faster TC. Is this because you find it's hard to secure a third base without colossi?
Thanks again for the replays!

Wow Tyler you've came so far. ^_^

During the earlier dated replays, I say it would lean more to robo play, such as quick colossi -> transition into chargelot archon -> then quick switch back to triple robo production colossi late late game. More recent replays will mostly be double forge play but with some quick colossi. Every PvT where I see a gas I go 2gate robo so I would play very reactionary from there. If I felt safe enough to go double forge, I would go it because I feel that that strategy snowballs the most efficiently. Other times if I feel I need earlier colossi to hold off pressure (or if I see that they are delaying teching for lots of MM pressure) then that is what I choose.
For specific replays displaying a strong late game against upgraded MMM, I will look through some of my more recent replays to cite specific examples for you.
Also, thank you everyone for the kind words. I hope everyone is enjoying the games!

PERFECT!!!!!!!! the colossus into chargearchon back into colossus is one of my favorite ways to play the mu, i just tend to mess up the timing of switching back >.> 2gate robo is my favorite PvT opener :D and double forge (when not vs an allin) is one of my favorite PvT plays...sir...i am probably going to watch every single game you have to offer now :D
also im a fan already xD

Thanks for the replays, as a mid level masters player your really helping me iron my timings out.
|
THANK GOD. I've hit a huge plateau in Diamond league and I've been looking for material like this to go over.
|
Yeah this is great, The most important thing for me to work on is just macro and these replay's provide me with lots of straight forward macro builds, thanks alot!

symolic/ecco, I got a small question for you:
In PvT openers, you say you go 2gate robo. I find myself using gate-robo-gate+(optional third gate) lately and have had LOTS of success with it. As in like 73 percent winrate in my last 40ish PvT's.
By 2 gate robo do you mean the second gate comes after the robo? For the sake of stopping 1-1-1's, or else going chewing through bunkers shortly after they expand (which nets me most of my wins), I find getting the robo after the first gate works best, to get a fast obs and to start immortal production. The quick obs lets me get a concave from lowground onto his highground on many maps, and the constant immortal production afterwards is clutch for focus firing targets. I get the 3 gates total for pinch-warpins for offense or defense, but I haven't tried delaying my robo much.
Is there a specific time for your robo, or am I just putting too much emphasis on a minor detail?

Is there a specific time for your robo, or am I just putting too much emphasis on a minor detail? I go gate -> robo -> gate every time I go 2gate robo. If I'm worried that there might be some sort of cheese, such as a proxy rax, then I will go zealot -> stalker -> sentry then add on robo but if I feel fairly safe I will cut the zealot and go stalker -> sentry -> robo. If you feel REALLY safe from any sort of pressure/cheese then you can go stalker -> robo (but I almost never do this).
|
Awesome, you totally just lined out the build I do, generally cutting the zealot, and usually starting a sentry before dropping robo. Glad to hear I'm on to something that a much better player uses. Also, in what situations do you not get an obs? I'm assuming they're few if any at all. If I'm pretty certain that he's doing a small, fast push with a couple marauders/marines, I'll maybe get the immortal out first, then obs second before more immortals.
TY for the response, btw.

TY for the response, btw. In situations where I feel safe from early pressure, like 2rax with a few pulled scvs, then I chrono obs first but if I don't feel safe, then I go immortal -> obs. But yeah, that's pretty much what you said. There's never a time where I wouldn't get an obs eventually after going 2gate robo since the point of the build is to know what your opponent is doing.

I have a question, what do you do if you don't see a gas? Do you then proceed to get more gates to be prepare from an allin?

thanks for the replays and something happen when I click your replays
+ Show Spoiler +
is that a glitch or something?
|
no' that just means it needs to load an older version of the game because the replay is from a previous patch

I just want to say thank you for sharing this. Your passive/reactive style matches up really well with the way I want to play Protoss, so it's really helpful to have these replays. In particular, I am finding your PvZ very interesting. I can't believe it's possible to get away with putting so little pressure on the Zerg!
