So, I used to stream a lot but recently have stopped since i'm extremely inactive atm, Only managing to play 20 games this season. Anyways i got a lot of requests for the music playlist on my stream and i thought this would be a good way to share my music playlist and for the community to share their own music playlist. So lists your fav playlist you listen to while playing sc2!
(max 15 songs) (Format: Song - Artist)
1Techno/Dubstep Sandstorm - Darude Traffic - DJ Blood Rave - Crystal Method Sierra Leone - Mt Eden Escape - Mt Eden Fur Elise - Dj Mystik Everytime We Touch - Cascada Halcyon On and On - Orbital Harder Better Faster - Daft Punk
This is one of my fav playlist to listen to while playing it's not very large but i find it a good mix of tech/dubstep hyper tempo with some relaxing tempo aswell. I'd love to see what some of you listen to while you game.
Just found that DJ Amoreux, the guy behind White-Ra's playlists has them published in huge audio files. http://amoureux.in/#/LIVE DANCE MIXES/ (Copy entire link with spaces) I never have to worry about ladder-music again.
Well, thanks to Stephano I began to listen to Classic Rock while playing, so my current fav. playlist in short form:
(My Dad really loved Guns 'N' Roses, and that's the first music I've ever heard, so it's basically my favorite "old" rock)
Guns 'N' Roses - Paradise City Guns 'N' Roses - Sweet Child O' Mine (<-- my all-time favorite, holy check, this song is just a masterpiece imo) Guns 'N' Roses - November Rain Guns 'N' Roses - Civil War Guns 'N' Roses - Knockin' on Heaven's Door Lynyrd Skynyrd - Free Bird (Live Version) Lynyrd Skynyrd - Sweet Home Alabama Lynyrd Skynyrd - Simple Man ZZTop - La Grange Jimi Hendrix - All Along The Watchtower Iron Maiden - Run To The Hills
Edit: Damn! .. Did it the wrong way, mine is (Artist - Song), Sorry!
Whatever I feel like at the time, unrelated for sc2 for me really, but usually metal, sometimes techno, sometimes Reggae, sometimes Classical, sometimes rock.
My SCII playlist is about 27 hours long (WMPlayer).
Most of it is rap, but I don't put in anything that is dependent on words to get the meaning across. If there were words, they would take my focus off. So, anything with a strong beat tbh.
Notables Marijuana - KiD KuDi One-Eight-Seven - Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg Serial Killa - Snoop Dogg Straight Outta Compton - NWA X - Xzibit Fast Lane - Bad Meets Evil Can't C Me - 2Pac Ridaz - Eminem Cum on Everybody - Eminem Run this Town & Empire State of Mind - Jay-Z Dead Presidents II - Jay-Z Right Above It - Lil Wayne and Drake Ice Cream Paint Job - Lil Wayne 99 Problems - Jay-Z Bitch Please II - Eminem, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Xzibit, and Nate Dogg
It has been proven to increase your Midi-clorian count by 10^4 each second that you are listening to kpop while playing. How else do you think the Koreans got so good?
If you love SpaceSynth (Electronic music style), you must listen this radio: http://spacesynth.hu/main it's in hungarian, but just click "on air" button i love it.
I like my Starcraft 2 with some dose of electro industrial / industrial metal / alternative metal, namely bands/composers like Celldweller, Blue Stahli, Voicians, Dope Stars Inc, RTPN, Powerman 5000.
Drum & Bass keeps me going when playing, i'd usually cue up a few albums and listen to them all, start to finish. A few good tracks tho are:
Bungle - Don't Look Back Calibre - Even If Concord Dawn - One and Only Fierce & Vicious Circle - Section Marcus Intalex - Celestial Navigation Shapeshifter - Twin Galaxies Nu:Tone - Broken Bop - 8-bit Cosmos
I use pandora for music. I mix 2 stations. One is seeded with Queens of the Stone Age, Foo Fighters, and Them Crooked Vultures. The other station is seeded with Deadmau5 and RJD2. They make pretty sick stations! Try it if you like that kind of music.

Whoa that is a whole lot of bad rap lol. Other than that im with you although i prefer more laid back hip hop beats. I usually just put on an instrumental album while i ladder. Some of the ones i have been listening to lately are:
DJ Frane - Beats to blaze to Damu The Fudgemunk - Over Time The Herbaliser - Remedies Dj Premier - Time to Chill Invisibl Skratch Piklz - The Shiggar Fraggar Show Marco Polo - Instrumentals

Google > Kpop radio > Seoul.FM Kpop while laddering makes me feel like a korean progamer and thus I feel more powerful. True story. Yeah... I'm dead serious.
Wow, OP listed every overplayed mainstream electronic song of all time.
Ultimately this thread is pretty pointless, people just listen to whatever they like...for focusing on the game purely I listen to solo piano/ambient (NOT Aphex Twin, dream-ambient, not holy shit what planet am I on ambient).
My music have a lot of piano and game music. It has some cool Japenese music thrown in there too. Notable artists: Yuki Kajiura, Nobuo Uematsu, Gabriela Rob, X Japan, Caravan Palace, DAAU, Homestuck, Two Mix, Blue Sky Black Death, Yousei Teikoku, Kashiwa Daisuke, Hanz Zimmer and more.
It is pretty much a mix of Destiny, TLO and HuK, with a lot of the bad songs taken out and a ton more good ones added in.

Haha i dont know i just listen to what i like. I just think artists like JayZ/Lil Wayne/Eminem are pretty fucking terrible. All they make is bad pop music these days.
I dont think i could be a "hipster-hop" fan if i like DJ Premier. Hes about as mainstream Hip Hop as it gets.

Jay-Z and Eminem were both extremely good rappers in their prime, and this is coming from someone who listens to a lot of underground/alternative and classic hip hop as well. Say whatever you want about Lil Wayne though, he can't compare to the other two and really shouldn't be grouped with them.
Any song from Two Steps From Hell. Fairy Tail OST. ParagonX9 - Chaoz Airflow. One Ok Rock - Naihi Shinsho. Fireballs and Turtle Shells - Casey Dunmore.

You clearly don't know as much as you think you do, Lil Wayne was easily on par with Eminem, although Jay-Z's Reasonable Doubt is way better than anything else by these three. Lil Wayne and Eminem were clearly on par during the 90's. People are cute with trying to be objective without formulating a real opinion. My guess is that you are ignorant to the progression that Lil Wayne has contributed in the past 10 years, and are oblivious to his work when he was 15 with the Hot Boys.

Why are you acting like such a prick? I wasn't trying to objectively state that Eminem and Jay-Z are good and that Lil Wayne is bad, I was trying to share my opinion that Eminem and Jay-Z used to be really, really good and mentioned my other tastes in hip hop because it's pretty clear that the poster I quoted is unhappy with modern mainstream hip-hop, as I am. Hell, I never even said he was bad, I just said I don't think he should be grouped with the other two and that people can be more critical of him with no objection from me. No, I haven't heard Lil Wayne's pre-solo work because I've never actually heard anyone ever really talk about it so I assumed it wasn't anything special compared to his more recent material. I guess it's totally possible that his old stuff is genius. I'm not trying to make myself sound like a hip hop guru here.

I have listened to almost every genre while playing SC2. The only real tip that I can give is that some people prefer music without any lyrics while playing so as not to get distracted. lately I've been listening to 80s pop and just went on a huge winstreak so maybe there is a correlation there. ^^

Lil' Wayne from Drought III was pretty good. I just have his No Ceilings and I am Not a Human Being shit because of the beats.
As for Eminem, he is actually really good. But fuck off to Love the Way you Lie. Won't Back Down was good, but it got overplayed. Slim Shady LP was probably his best album besides Recovery, but that's when he was a pill-popper about to hit rock bottom.
You didn't diss Pac? Good, if you did, I would shoot you.
As for tha Jigga Man, again, it's all really about beats in SC. My life playlist is a lot different. And Jay-Z really has come out with some of the best beats in the game.
As for Bad Meets Evil, it's probably my favorite new artist this year. Loud Noises, Above the Law, and Fast lane are all really good for playing SC, mainly because of the beats and combination with the lyrics.
Then again, this is South Central music. I grew up around it, it's hard to kick it off.

Why say "He can't compare", when you clearly have no clue what he has done then? Slandering something you are ignorant to is quite common, however when you do it, expect to be rivaled by someone who educated themselves on the subject. It may sound like im being a prick, but you claiming that Lil Wayne is something to be bashed, while defending two notoriously huge pop stars in the meanwhile is more prickish than me dropping knowledge.

Where did I say that Lil Wayne was to be bashed? I said Lil Wayne can't compare because, in my opinion, based on what I have heard, I don't think Lil Wayne's music is anywhere near as good as my favorite material from the other two rappers. I like some Lil Wayne too, I just think he has made a lot of bad music and no really, really good music. Once again, this is MY opinion based on what I have heard, which is, as we now all know, not fully representative of everything he's ever done. Am I not allowed to give a PERSONAL OPINION, one that was slightly critical at most if I might add, if I don't have 100% of all knowledge pertinent to the subject?
You keep on trying to present my opinion as some sort of fact I believe is true and am trying to push on everyone. It's not. I presented an opinion that I hold and do not expect anyone else to agree with and now you're getting super butthurt over it. I wasn't trying to SLANDER him either, Jesus fucking Christ, I just said I don't think he can compare to two people I believe to have been, at a certain point that was passed long ago, two of my favorite rappers. I didn't mean to insult him or any of his fans. Calm down.
Another funny thing is that you complained about me trying to be objective when you're the one acting like your opinion is the be all end all, while I admit that my opinion is simply that, an opinion. Keep on misinterpreting and overreacting to everything I say if you want so you can "drop" more "knowledge", but I'm done with this conversation as it's getting off topic and will not reply.

Haha i come back to this thread and its turned into a big Hip Hop discussion. I like this.
While i do agree that both Jay Z and Eminem where good rappers in their prime as soon as i see something like this
Run this Town & Empire State of Mind - Jay-Z
I get very dissapointed. There was a time when Jay-Z could be called a Hip Hop artist (Regulators Ft Jaz O is one of my favorite songs). That time is gone. Now all he makes is complete trash and i cant help despise him. His style of rapping has changed so much over the years now he just seems to talk slowly.

Amen brother. Can't say I've ever understood the hype and appreciation for his music.
I generally run through really bass heavy hip hop if I'm laddering, cause I use my speakers more often than not. That or I have a playlist similar to what Destiny used to play on his stream; lots of classical, anime OSTs, and some game music because I've loved that stuff for a long time (I don't know what the hell is up with the current stuff he mixes in there now). If I have more time, I'll post up a list.

Are you a hipster-hop fan or something?
Sorry if i have offended anyone but i just hate Jay-Z with every fiber of my being.
Again, I have to reemphasize that it's just the beats that matter. And actually, I just have the instrumentals for those songs. The words are actually kinda bad.
Still, I think we can all agree that songs like this were actually pretty dope in their time. Not as much now, but still.
A variety of stuff on my playlist, but overall techno/trance/hardstyle/psytrance.

Again, I have to reemphasize that it's just the beats that matter. And actually, I just have the instrumentals for those songs. The words are actually kinda bad.
Oh Snap. I didnt see you say that haha. +1 Respect for you then.
If you like those kind of beats you should check out Damu The Fudgemunk. Really dope Hip Hop instrumentals and great background music for SC.
I'm sorry guys but the sc2 is the best music to listen to. It fits the environment and it makes me feel like an actual warrior that's part of the game. When I see streams where other music is played it ruins it for me and brings me back to tue real world. Yer I like to role playy so what. I think being a unit wud be so awesome...
I <3 nu-metal a lot. I usually listen to Korn (all time favorite), System of a Down, Slipknot, Drowning Pool, Linkin Park (mostly old stuff), Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie, Deftones, even Limp Bizkit sometimes lol. I also like to listen to bands like Lamb of God, Whitechapel, Cannibal Corpse occasionally.

I don't know if you guys know this, but that's actually the best possible playlist you can have to play starcraft to, like, actually, it's a fact. Like, thread-stopper.
