I would very much prefer them to change it, I am terribly disgusted by that stuff.. I made it to the fish (or whatever) with holes in his back in the video, getting chills down my spine..

I know I know, buck up etc.

I would very much like to know this aswell. I have a terrible fear for toads and I need someone to tell me that what I just saw was something absolutley disgusting so I can justify my fear. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surinam_toad During each arc, the female releases 3-10 eggs, which get embedded in the skin on her back by the male's movements. After implantation the eggs sink into the skin and form pockets over a period of several days, eventually taking on the appearance of an irregular honeycomb. The larvae develop through the tadpole stage inside these pockets, eventually emerging from the mother's back as fully developed toads, though they are less than an inch long (2 cm). Once they have emerged from their mother's back, the toads begin a largely solitary life. This is the one I guess? That is the most disgusting thing I've ever seen.

Holes in wood don't bother me. Holes in an apple don't bother me (unless I just took a huge bite out of it). But seeing something erupt out of flesh (or the implication that something could crawl out of flesh), is disturbing. The swarm host feeds into that fear too. But, whatever. I don't play zoomed in enough to really care. And frankly, I don't see "Marines" when I look at a StarCraft 2 marine. I see "Mobile small ranged unit." Yeah, if I pay attention I could point out his gun, and pieces of armor, but fuck if I'm paying that much attention during an actual game.

This is like testing phobia for the color red by showing gore videos. "Yeah I was pretty affected by that video where the girl was decapitated, guess the color red just somehow gets to me". Now I can understand that there is such a phobia (how can you validate a phobia anyway?) and that some may find the Swam Host overly repulsive, but that test is useless and needs to get out of this discussion.

All kidding aside, I personally have no problem with the units appearance. However if some people will actually have a hard time enjoying the game because of it, I think they should change it before release. Would hate to hear stories about people quitting SC2 because they cant' get through a TvZ without itching or whatever the condition causes to happen.

I hate dragonflies. Should they change the viper for me? Where do you draw the line?

I don't believe in that number. I have zero form of Trypophobia but due to the explanation I had an itch before the test even begun. They could have shown anything during that time span and I would still have had an itch. Also I was uncomfortable because it was incredibly boring and I didn't make it past 20 seconds or something. Edit: I don't like the design at all though, but it has nothing to do with Trypophobia.

I voted "yes, change the fuck out of that model" because I get goosebumps everytime I look at it. It's sick yet fascinating - the worst combination. And the zergling holes and roach holes also give me goosebumps. It's just that they aren't common in every game like the swarm host will be.

Does it not understand confirmation bias? That's just stupid. I don't get the phobia. I watched it and was very confused. Obviously the idea of holes and pustules on skin is very disturbing, but pizza dough and apples? I don't get it. Yep. That's what happened through the entire thread... -_- I'm sure that multiple people per page ACTUALLY have this phobia, right? To anyone saying they have this: what about burrowing and unburrowing zerglings, as Destiny said? How does that not trigger it? My "case" (I use that word only because I can't come up with anything better right away) is fairly mild, but the look of the unburrow holes causes a changing range of my skin to itch. It's really bizzare, but not something I would call life-changing. Swarm host is fine.

Watched the video, some of the stuff is disgusting(but thats because it is) but the holes phobia does nothing for me. Still , Blizzard should add the option so that the animation is changed(not a super priority but it would be nice) Sorry guys, I guess thats all I can contribute to this. Edit: Oh wait, I want to be a smartasss by making fun of people´s fears. I guess this unit will cause a lot of .....nerdchills

To anyone saying they have this: what about burrowing and unburrowing zerglings, as Destiny said? How does that not trigger it? It does for me. Group 6+ zerglings and burrow them and then unburrow. The pecks they leave on the ground make me uneasy. Not Zerglings for me. Roach holes after they unborrow get me. As do burrowed Banelings because they have their dots which are small clustered holes. But this stuff is rather mild, and I can easily get over it. Browder's video of the Swarm Host was quite different and far worse, and I really do not want to have to watch it again. Baneling holes are the worst...
