It's not quite the same as the goliath. By the description it will actually have anti-light SPLASH AA. The goliath didn't have splash AA. Also price, range of attacks, ground attack, etc. Pretty similar, but not exactly the same.

So is there really any point in investing time to get good at the game at a low level? (mid masters or below that is)... things are gonna change ALLLLL over again for LOV.. -_-

Zerg units look amazing, very happy about those.

The others.. at least the Tempest looks interesting

Protoss units looks like gimmicks :/
Terrans units are ok I guess, but it's just new unit for the same utility replacing old units.
Zerg units looks good, I guess that makes sense as it's the zerg expansion pack.

Some elements of the units I like...some I do not.
It seems there's a lot of new abilities being added of which a couple seem a bit gimmicky.

a) Viper: Why not just give overlords a detection upgrade at lair tech instead of giving a unit the ability to create a detector? Recall thing seems....odd.

b) Replicant seems kinda pointless and uninteresting...zerg already has neural parasite and this new ability doesn't sound too different.

c) Why bother going to the whole effort of creating a carrier replacement instead of just fixing the carrier as it as at the moment? Splash damage to light should've been given to the phoenix, (what's the point in having 2 anti light AA units one of which is almost completely gimmicky?)

I agree. And in particular this "replicant" unit seems utterly useless unless it's cheap enough that you can chrono it out to quickly clone more expensive units. All three of the new Toss units just seem gimmicky.


Well that appears to be the design philosophy for toss. The entire effectiveness of the race is based around assorted gimmicks.
