Its hivetech, just get detectors...i dont really see a problem with being forced to have mobile detection when your opponent is at hive tech. Actually i think its a pretty cool new addition to the baneling.


actually i think terran's have gotten too lazy with detection as zergs don't have any aggressive burrowed attacks, other than non-mobile burrowed banelings.

No, its because the protoss changes are underwhelming and the terran stuff way to powerful considering what terran already has.

Ah so its a balance commentary(protoss underwhelming because they seen as weak atm, terran improvements hated because they are seen as OP right now). I wish people wouldn't vote like this when havn't even played the beta yet, vote on concept. I personally love the new units, the tempest + the oracle work together like a superpowered corsair. I also think the replicant will be incredibly powerful in the right hands. Imagine using a pdd against maruaders?

The duplicant just makes me laugh. Blizzard is admitting that Protoss units are not as good as terran or zerg units, so they gave toss a unit that can turn into terran and zerg units. I can see them being like, "OMG tosses will be so happy with this!" And Tosses look at it and think: It's pretty much the perfect fit for toss, expensive. There is nothing non-massive that costs 200/200 or more, so you are always getting a more expensive copy of what the opponent has. That is not a recipe for winning. Hope I'm proved wrong but this stuff seems far too expensive AND gimmicky. I mean seriously. The new capital ship is just a big, slow corsair that costs 300/300. So cool.......

I think the roach is a really cool unit.. but marauders and roaches and maybe stalkers being cut would be better for the game.. obv replaced by something else if needed..

Love the new units. I'm a bit iffy on the oracle's harass potential. It look likes it costs a lot of gas and is stargate tech, the same as phoenixes. So no new early game harass unit for protoss. The warhound units looks kind of meh too. But I'm still looking forwards to HOTS XD

alot of ppl said it was basically a corsair including me. and it is basically a corsair that can atk ground units. the only thing ppl didnt expect was the price and they didnt expect it to replace carriers. some actually thought it was new carrier interceptors tho (for w/e retarded reason)

No, no that is definitely not what protoss need. Phoenix, sentries, void rays, prism allins are all obnoxious and annoying as hell --- they needed solid units not more flimsy shit that can create wins after which your opponent wants to punch you in the face for being such an annoying bastard.

Also reaper change just made them pretty much useless vs zerg... No damage to buildings means reaper bunker rushes are 100% dead.

Gonna be annoying as shit vs terran tho, they run in, kill a marine, run out with red hit points, come back full --;

I don't get this "Protoss needs more harass" stuff. Warp Prisms are by far the ultimate form of harass, and WhiteRa above all knows this. (Hmmm... Mutalisks may actually be slightly better harass, but if so not by much). Drop some stuff in, and by the time your opponent has actaully dealt with it, you've warped even more in. Blink stalker/observer is also fairly strong.

Do you even play starcraft 2? Warp prism sucks because toss have no good units to drop. Zealots cant kill workers because they are too slow to chase them down and stalkers 5 shot workers with their crappy dps vs light. jesus

I like how the new Zerg stuff enables any ground unit it supports to be viable/ extended to the late game.

Zergling --> Speed --> Adrenalin + "Disruption web"
Hydra --> Range --> Speed
Baneling --> Speed --> Burrow --> Burrow move + "Disruption web"
Ultra --> Carapace --> Burrow charge + "Disruption web"

Roaches-->... Well roaches stay roaches. A pretty good unit

I really don't get the Oracle hate. No, it can't kill workers. Who gives a shit, if it can still cause massive economic damage, and force your opponent to pull lots of army units back to defend? Thats what harassment is. Killing workers is one way to do it, but making them useless is another. The Oracle can take tech trees out of commission, it can shut down static defense, and it can shut down an entire mineral line for 45 seconds with one shot. Its fast as hell too. And shutting down static defense synergizes awesomely with Phoenixes, as a spore or turret is no longer enough to utterly nullify Phoenix harass. And it is a get in, get out unit--it doesn't need to stick around while it kills lifted units, or charge up attacks. You fly in, get a shot off and fly out without taking damage, and you've done serious econ damage.

Yes, its expensive. Thats the nature of Protoss. if you want cheap shit, play T or Z. Protoss get extremely expensive, specialized units that are awesome at a given role, and the Oracle looks to be pretty damn awesome at harassment.

If anything, the Oracle looks like it could be too powerful. But frankly, Stargate could use some potent options.

I really don't like that new Protoss unit that duplicates my opponents units. I'm playing Protoss. If I wanted to use Terran or Zerg units then I would switch race -_-

Yeah, I mean, really none of those things can straight-up win the game. Cloaked banshees either come late enough that you really deserve to lose if you don't already have detection, or are at such a tremendous investment if they come early that you should be able to push immediately and do at least as much damage to the Terran as he's done to you.

Hellion drops should be fairly easy to take care of with warpgate. Bio is great until a 2 colossus or a couple of HTs come out with storm, after which it is terrible.

Yeah terran never continue making bio after colossus or storm are out do they...

The Overseer removal is the most pointless thing ever. It was already versatile enough, having being morphed from Overlord, and don't forget they had Changelings too.

I've seen several games where the Overseer has actually made the winning difference for a player. Saving the Overseer at 2 HP and then using it later for detection against DTs. Or morphing into an Overseer while under attack, and then moving it around and getting a Changeling to continue scouting while the Overseer gets destroyed. Lots of creative things can be done here. I don't see why this was a necessary unit removal.

If the Overseer is not versatile or creative enough, why not get rid of the Observer? It just seems rather odd and pathetic.

Well when mutas were in fashion ZvP a lot of protoss complained about the lack of protoss AA, seems like the tempest is pretty much the anti mutalisk unit. I guess they decided that in Starcraft 2 a unit like the carrier doesn't really have a place, and maybe they're right.

Glad to see some new thing brought in HOTS but i'm pretty sure there will be a lot of changes before this goes online. I'm a bit sad about the reaper but i guess they know what they're doing.
There are some changes that left me speechless... and i can't wait to see how they pan out in the future beta stages.

Really? I mean, WhiteRa does absolutely ridiculous damage with his zealot drop/zealot warpin followup - and honestly of all the professional Protoss he's really not even near the top in terms of skill level. Moreover, the big problem right now is the sentry drop. You drop setntries and zealots, FF the workers in the mineral line, and warp in additional zealots. It's very strong to the point of being almost impossible to deal with if it's executed well.

the nexus recall is quite nice.

But I'm sure it will turn into 150 energy, can only recall up to 10 supply or 25 energy / 2 supply or something.

Protoss has great harass options now, drop + warp in with prisms, then recall? On the other hand, replicator seems pretty gimicky =/

I'm also sad that carriers and overseers are being removed...

Otherwise I am a happy zerg :D
