The primary advantage of the replicator is that it's suppose to build really fast, so you can get a big army out quickly if you're willing to be less cost efficient. This can be really important to defend timings where you'd normally be weak.

Make them ugly and ridiculous and people will believe they're real after the HoTS reveal.

Or make them super cool and people will probably end up thinking the Blizzard previews are the fake ones.

Zerg changes very good but some things may be too strong (Viper pull and burrow movement for blings).

Protoss changes are terrible, they're trying to fix the face by throwing a bunch of gimmicky crap in. You know that they don't know the issues when they add so many units with spells. Nexus recall is OP, replicant doesn't really belong in SC2

Oracle is by far the stupidest addition - yes we know Protoss is lacking harass, but why the hell do you give it ABILITIES instead of some specific attack? Herp derp make unit put at enemy base and click abilities...once again, doesn't fit Starcraft, you should have to micro to harass your opponent, not click abilities

Terran changes are ok I suppose. Warhound sounds like a new Goliath, Thors being moved to Mothership status is very smart, they never fit the race. Transformable hellions is a great change imo, the biggest problem with hellions is that you can't use them well in straight up battles. Shredder thingy looks kind of gimmicky but I guess we have to see it in action.

Overall too many changes imo and WAY too many caster abilities. We need more attacks, not more spells, SC2 is all about microing your units to make the best use of them.
All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.

It would probably be easier to make a bunch of replicants, a robo and a stargate, and make 1 immo and 1 void ray. Have the replicants replicate either of the two, then just attack with a mass of them and not allow opponent to react

EDIT: Scratch that, didn't know they were really expensive. In that case, replicate a ghost.

Even at cost, they would def help a protoss with a tech switch out of robo (except into tempest). If you're willing to pay a little extra, protoss can be pumping replicants while waiting for his templar or stargate tech to finish. As soon as the tech is finished and a single unit (like a HT or VR) is done, have them all replicate that and you'll have that tech switch done significantly faster than otherwise.

all nexus's get a free mothership over it . i used to rush motherships against zerg to counter muta. mutas strength is their mobility, and mass recall countered mutalisks nicely and allowed me to defend 4+ bases

however now against zerg every single nexus gets a free mothership.... every nexus can use mass recall holy crap mutas will be dead against protoss completely

Yeah, it looks like its going to give the Protoss some great mobility. But it means that if the Protoss player want to use it in that fashion then they are not going to be using many if ANY chronoboosts on unit/research production. Not only that, but say you see an army recalled on top of your mutalisks, what do you do? Fly away. The same as if you would when you encounter blink stalkers. Then what? That nexus has lost 75/100 energy and they can't recall to that base again for ages... I don't think it negates muta harrass, just changes the nature of it somewhat.

not exactly, it's been said that the recalled units can't attack for a few seconds. It should be plenty of time to get out when they recall.

I wonder if when protoss Turns Replicants into mules are they permanent? Probably not it would be OP lol..

Do you think Blizzard would allow this? For Replicants to become Mules Temporarily?

Because Replicants Turned into Mules; Mass Recalled to the Protoss Nexus is a good skill toi have !

200/200 is a lot more than I was expecting the Replicator to cost... holy hell that is a lot for a unit which can only steal a single unit and which has very low hp apparently.

150/200 for the Oracle, and having it come from the Stargate instead of the robo, is nice imo. I like the cost, the abilities and the location so far.

It has to be more expensive then other units you can build, or else you can just spam them and copy your own units.

Could just make it so you can't copy your own units with it.

Not much point in having it being able to copy own units, as it creates balance problems if you can just use it to mass tech-switch all at once.

With the 200/200 cost and build time, there is almost nothing that is worth replicating. Even an SCV isn't worth it as you need such an investment, making a CC and a rax just to get mules, plus the replicator cost and time investment. And you lose out on the free nexus abilities you could have had instead.

It's not like the mind control was really used in BW, despite being permanent, removing the unit from your opponent as well as being reusable and usable on all types of units. So yeah, with 200/200, it will likely go down the Dark archon-route of rarely being used except for extreme late game.

Why would you pay 200/200 + building time to get a mule that at best generates 270 minerals?

I really don't see how zerg will be able to scout any more... also, the idea of buffing protoss AA is great, but aoe simply is not as effective against mutas as blizzard seems to want it to be.

I'm not a fan of the terran units. Terran is clearly the most complete race, so I think that giving them more extremely versatile units is a big mistake.

The protoss harass unit is a bit of a disappointment. Drop play isn't painful because it disrupts mining time, but because it kills harvesters. The protoss harass unit doesn't seem to be able to do that...

Edit:

Forgot to say, I'm so excited to see the new spells that will be used in battles. It really seems like they'll promote a lot of in-battle micro, which will be AWESOME!

It would actually be a good strategy if and only if these two conditions are met,

1: The replicant can revert back to it's original state so it can turn into something else

2: A replicated MULE does not have a timer

I don't have any problem with a fleet-beacon-tech muta-killer. They'll have done their job by the time these things are out, and you can't win a game with mutas alone against P (they're great against T, though... muta ling anyone?).

I still don't see any protoss answer to mass marine. Guess templar and colossi will fill their roles. I just hope the Tempest will be good against vikings.

That's what the betas for though. If it's OP they'll remove it like the whole dark pylon thing from before SC2 was released.

That's what i was thinking as well. How are Zerg going to Move out of the Base When Protoss can have Dark Templars Before Spire Timing.

And Spire takes so long...

Right now i'm seeing Protoss going for DT rushes sniping the Spire and GG

This is actually pretty concerning. I'm sure Blizz wouldn't fuck Zerg like that though, not again
