I'd say they are replacing one of the existing protoss air units, most likely the phoenix. I can't see them ever scrapping the carrier no matter how little it is used. Looks like a corsair rehash to be honest.

That thing seems like it would actually be useful. I would take that over crappy chronoboost any day, Though the initial use of cloaking buildings would have been kinda crazy. Cloak your DT Shrine.
Cloaking your buildings would be pretty worthless, given that all 3 races scout with detection (scan, overseer, obs).
And the more I look at this toss unit, the more I hope it warps in bombs from the field in between the wings, dropping them for some AoE damage below.
Im definitely leaning towards a support style unit with some sort of transport capabilities with supporting buff spell (possibly improved shield regeneration in an area).
It could be a hover land raider, like a Protoss Reaper of sorts, built out of robo. +dmg to light, highly mobile, cliff walk, glaive worm like attack with very low damage.
It could be a strange sort of ground unit (like a sentry replacement) but it does seem more likely to be a flying unit. It could also replace the phoenix entirely.
4 units from the stargate seems fine with me if one of them is a spellcaster. Might open more more gameplay options like we see with terran now.
Obviously, It's the corsair. So now the protoss has two units that do the same thing... good variance blizz! lol just conjecture though would be cool to see corsair dt back in sc2
What if we're looking at this wrong? What if instead of a vertically flat flying unit, it is a horizontally thin standing unit that floats on two thin spokes. If that were the case, it almost looks like a portable version of a Stargate (the tv show, not the Protoss building).
Maybe it acts as a de facto warp-in mechanic by kinda copying the nydus worm of having an entry gate and an exit gate, but it requires energy to operate.
Ok kids, its obviously going to be a replacement for the warp prism. It will be able to drop and it will be like a medivac but instead of healing life it charges shields.
