I was just going to ask why everyone was so anxious to see another silhouette when the first two seem to be seriously lacking. But then I realized it's protoss and they'll probably receive the coolest addition in Heart of the Swarm -___-

I don't understand why so many people are hating the collosus. I don't want units removed, i want more units therefore more possibilities. If I'm missing the Reaver too much i can always play some BW.

People are of the opinion that, because it doesn't require 200 APM to get any kills, it doesn't require any micro.

I hope there will be a new building, like the factory for terran. so u dont have to go gateway cyber core every single game. U need to build tha gateway but then u can go the other building. One of the new units has to be a "drive-by" unit like the zerglings and hellion

Because the Colossus is a boring unit, bad for battle legibility, and looks silly.

I hope you realize that a Reaver, or anything with the splash damage even near what a reaver had, would aboslutely wreck bioballs on a level way above that of the collosus. It wasn't an issue in brood war because you couldn't have as many units as you wanted in one control group - so it didn't create the clumped up "balls" that we see in SC2. In SC2, you can have as many units as you want in a control group, and thus, the "balls" are created. Be careful what you wish for...

Yeah, I know if they literally just dropped in the BW unit it would be imba. I'm assuming they'll balance it to the new game. Just agreeing with others that a unit that functions sort of like a reaver could fill the role of the colossus and require more skill to use. It would be more interesting to watch and maybe open more harass opportunities for protoss as well.

Because people seem to think being a BW vet is cool, so they keep on saying "reaver, lurker, arbiter, vulture," and finding problems with SC2 that don't exist.

They wouldn't remove the Collosus, because that would fuck up all the matchups even more than if they added new units. New units can find their niche or mold into the existing army, but if you take out an integral piece of a protoss ball then both protoss and terran/zerg will have to redo their strategies.

That is a personal opinion. I don't find it boring or silly. One can make a case that a super slow metal sulg that shoots explosive scarabs is quite silly too...

Its called a chargelot....

If you have 6-10 gateways and a warp prism/ proxy pylon and you see the enemy army move out I assure you there is no easier unit for demolishing a base than the zealot.

Hatchery sniping with a bunch of chargelots is a geat new way to play.

when i first started playing BW i was trying out protoss and made a reaver
i had to pay $25 to kill like 2 units and i was just like wtf.. screw this i'm switchign to terran

seriously tho.. tell me how seige tanks require more micro than colossus?

people don't like colossi because they do so much damage and require basically no micro. Just keep them in the middle or behind the rest of your army and let them drill away at opposing bio armies and tear them to shreds. But there are ways to defeat them and simple ways at that, so I'm not really gonna say "take out colossi".

I shouldn't have to point this out, but the campaign actually has a lot to do with units and 'esports' (what the fuck?), or at least should now that Blizzard has started the trend with Wings.

Everyone knows Terran was/is the most developed race, and one that received the most time and effort from the sc2 team. Dustin Browder and others have come out and explained it was because they were working with Terran so much for the campaign that they became the most dynamic in multiplayer. It would be a huge let down if Zerg wasn't the shining star for 'their' expansion, receiving plenty of retributive attention, and protss for the third game.

Overall point is that you can't short on cool zerg updates for HotS when a lot of zergs are unhappy with their race's design so far (hydras, corruptors, roaches, absence of feeling swarmy and fast--the whole caboodle).
