OMGGG!!! SHIT STORM!
Seems like COL. Is possibly going to take Action... if they do i think they are slimy!

How can e-sports grow if people can back out of teams after signing a contract (which is kind of the point of making him sign a contract anyways?). It's a shitty situation that coL can't actually force Stephano to play for them, however signing a contract must hold some value? Stupid decision that will only hurt his image.
You're exactly right. It sucks that complexity is ultimately going to end up without the player, and they are going to have to pay for legal counsel to deal with the situation. The contract definitely holds some value, but I'm sure they pursuing based on principle. I wouldnt be surprised if it costs coL more than the contract is actually worth.

!! :D Was so sad when I heard he was going to play for complexity, stephano will always be a millenium player to me! :D Hopefully he can stay without to much drama.. ^^

It's baffling to see people defend Stephano here while attacking Complexity. He's an adult and should be treated as one, first off. He willingly signed a contract after talking to Complexity for some time. Perhaps he got cold feet, perhaps his old team pressured him, perhaps they offered a last minute pay increase, whatever. The fact remains that as an adult, professional player he should be held to a standard. No real sport would stand for a player signing a contract with one team then breaking the contract a day later.
Enough of this "he's young!" nonsense. That wouldn't hold up in any court as a defense for an 18 year old man. There should be a line between being a fan of a player and being a slappy

OMGGG!!! SHIT STORM! Stop posting unless you have something interesting to say. Your last six posts have literally been only the words "shit storm", sometimes multiple times in the same post.

I just hope that this shit storm doesn't hurt Stephano's play... he's streaming right now btw.

Um, this can have some pretty nasty legal ramifications...

I'd consider this a smart move if that's how it went down. Except you can't "sign" (a contract) with a team and then just take a better offer. This is what contracts are for. Following these developments with great interest. Legally speaking I don't think if Complexity retains his contract that he can play anywhere not under them until this is sorted...or else comlpexity could legally sue him for any penny he earns playing for mellinium. They wouldn't do either if they have any sense left in them. It certainly wouldn't help their image and popularity to hold a talented 18-year old player against his will, let alone sue him. If he doesn't want to play for them, he doesn't want to play and that's that. No that's not that. If he doesn't want to play for them he shouldn't have signed a contract to begin with. I'm 100% on coLs side on this one. If you ever want e-sport taken seriously, shit like this can't be allowed. There's no freaking point of having contracts to begin with if we allow things like this to happen. meRz says it pretty well, if you want this game to taking seriously as a professional, organizations and players need to respect contracts. It sets a terrible precedent to let this slide. I'm much more worried about the kind of arrangements where, in case of Complexity, it's now 2 players backed away just a few days after signing the contract. I'm more than willing to give up this whole "professionalism of e-sports" than accept dealings that are obviously shady and dishonest for one reason or the other, in one way or another. Obviously if it turns that Stephano changed his mind out of the blue or to get more money, I won't be on his side anymore and I'll sympathize with Complexity. However, given what I've seen in SC2 so far, and a natural inclination to trust people rather than companies, I'm defaulting to being extremely suspicious about the team initiating the transfer until it's proven otherwise.
Complexity's first player who had contract problems was Destiny, however, he and Jason Lake had a reasonable and very well done separation. Destiny even said so himself that he and Jason Lake talked for a while and both agreed mutually. Stephano however, is a totally different case because there were no talks apparently no anything between him and coL on him going back to Millenium. If its true that he signed a legally bounding contract between him and Complexity, then he NEEDS by LAW to follow it, I like what Naniwa said, Stephano is trying to get more money out of all of this, but looks like its just blowing up in his face now.
Also if I could say one thing, I've followed Complexity and even worked with Jason Lake the CEO of coL several times, that man has more passion for eSports then even Tasteless and Artosis sometimes. He also has a character that will be as honest as it can be. I don't really agree with how a lot of this is turning out, but in this situation Complexity if what I'm told is right, is the victim here of a bratty and greedy punk.

I'm glad col is taking a stand. It was starting to look like contracts in SC2 were meaningless.

Can this be translated with more finesse? It's a critical part of the story but is pretty confusing in its current form.
