I was wondering if Hayward's one-night stream was a one time thing, and he had gotten bored of interacting with the eSports community. But this obviously proves me wrong. And who cares who he plays or whether he wins or not?! It's freaking Gordon Hayward! <3
Guess who is now a hardcore Jazz fan?
He's streamed several times since then.

if only sc2 was out in a decent time... Jordan would of never went to baseball

This is sick news and Gordon seems like a cool guy to hang out with judging from his stream. It is nice to see a NBA player relax and play video games or some other outlet. It is common to see a professional athlete get into trouble by doing stupid shit as their choice of recreation.

Is Boris going too?!?! That would be sweet.

lol love that he's so open about this and is participating. any type of main stream mingling is good for sc2 and esports, so more power to ipl and gordon. love this guy more and more lol.
HOT_BID, TEACH HIM THE WAYS OF BOSS CANNON RUSH. watch him beat idra with it lol

This is pretty cool. If you are a Jazz fan going to the event make sure to rep his jersey at least for day 1.
A lot of athletes actually play video games, obviously most tend to play madden / sports games or CoD / Halo. However, the point is the competitive aspect of these games and SC2 is similar to their profession.
As a former high school / college athlete I totally see why he would do this. I was already a huge fan from Butler's run in the tourney (killed my bracket though lol) but huge props for this!

Well, the NBA might be out until February or March or even the whole year, so why not try to get into your hobby hardcore?
Better than partying, getting fat off alcohol or doing immense amount of drugs like some other NBA players have done in lockouts.

meh.... He's just gonna get roflstomped.

People below the news are even criticizing that Gordon Hayward is participating at IPL...there seems to be very little hope for esport =(

News sites, or blogs? Links?

Great news! IPL isn't even the biggest tournament in SC2, and yet it can pull a star like Gordon.
Pretty sweet. He won't win anything, but the experience is what matters.

The real question is. Whats the bigger mismatch?
Idra vs. Gordon 1v1 in SC2?
or
Idra vs. Gordon 1v1 on the court?

However due to his grinding style, this is the most he can ask for. This Jane character criticizing him, most likely has no clue of the match-ups that exist on the NBA floor, and what Gordon Haywood can legitimately provide for his team. If theres anything from his run in Butler that we can see, is that he grinds, and wins, and to expect anything else from him just because he is has "made it" is only fooling yourself. Gordon most certainly works harder at his craft than most sc2 players work at their own. :D

Yellow was Gold division a month before he tried to get into Code A, just to put things in perspective.
