Awesome!
I guess with the Lockout he has more time to play sc2, I hope he does well (he will not win, but I hope he will have good matchs).

This is ridiculously awesome! I'm not really a Utah Jazz fan (Go Warriors!) but having an actual NBA player come to IPL is huge.

I believe Tim Duncan use to play the original Starcraft back when he was drafted.

But yeah its huge to get a NBA player to come to these events. Athletes are super competitive so I bet he starts asking a million questions after he loses out to get better.

He is obviously there for fun. This to me is REALLY cool cause the name is getting bigger and not only that but it will bring the name of Starcraft to more sports fans cause some of them will read this story. Good for e=sports, good for everything.

Did anyone else read the comments on the article in the OP? It is only 3 or 4 people, but it doesn't seem like it legitimizes e-sports at all, unfortunately. It's great that he is into it, but I don't think his fans will watch the IPL or SC2 now. He might just gain SC2 fans, but I don't think too many basketball fans will come check this out.

Of course, I could be totally wrong and those could just be 3 or 4 of the most negative commenters. I just can't see a reason it would be different for other people.

Just because someone scoffs at it doesn't mean he won't tune in. Of course he'll use the excuse of "I'm just watching it to make fun of it", but in the end he'll still be watching one of the best SC2 tournaments in the world, and that's what's important.

I hope thats the case. ^_^

EDIT: It just seems a little more difficult seeing as it won't be on TV but will be online. It takes a little bit more effort to find than a TV channel. I do hope I am wrong though.

Maybe the day when being on a SC2 team nets you a 2.5 million contract or higher he'll switch.

Thank god for the Lockout- Hayward Fighting! If he wins 1 game that will be legendary. Idk he's an athlete, he knows what training hard means, he's got little else to do and great coaches, who knows what'll happen?

Gordon Hayward is the man. He may not have averaged a lot of points last year but he didnt get a lot of minutes because he was a rookie. Towards the end of the year when he got minutes he put up 22 pts with 9-14 FGs against the Lakers with Kobe Bryant guarding him. He said Kobe elbowed him and he gave him a bow back . Needless to say after the game Kobe Bryant was raving about Gordan saying hes going to be very good. The last game of the season against the Nuggets he had a career high 35 pts on 12-17 FGs and 5-6 from 3. I think he was sending a message to the league about how hes going to be next year. I think he will be a future All-star, I think hes going to be that good.

With that said I think its amazing hes into starcraft, connects with the SC community, and is playing in IPL3. Best of luck to Gordon in IPL3 and next year in the league. Really hope there isnt a lockout in the NBA next year.
