I've been told that it's 16 scvs per mineral line, but I've always thought it was 24 (3 for each patch, even close ones). So what is it? 16? 20? 24? On September 26 2011 14:34 Probe1 wrote: 24 includes gas, 18 is max saturation without having at least one worker running around looking for an open patch. If I'm not mistaken.. The ideal mining situation is 2 on each mineral patch (for normal bases that's 2*8 = 16) and 3 on each gas (that's 3*2 = 6) 16 + 6 is 22 workers per base. Thus, when you double click on a worker in your mineral field you should have 20 (2 rows + 4) workers selected -- 2 will be hidden in the gas.

I go single banshee opening into macro mode but even if I have 30-40 food lead I don't know how to play, how to engage with tanks :/ Any videos, or guides? That's a pretty broad question, man. Seems like you're asking how to play the game. If you're in a siege war then there are many ways of solving it, like dropping in his main, nuking his siege line to unsiege him, tanking with thors or marauders etc. You just need to play and figure it out, really.

Unless one has over 16 drones working on minerals, my point is transferring is inefficient. This is due to the fact that with 16 drones on 1 base, each drone is doing their maximum part. In fact, transferring any of those drones loses mining time, which loses mining time. Yes, one has to rally new drones to the natural instead of their main, but minerals are the most important NOW as you can get more drones earlier creating an overall higher economy. Just wondering, does this argument make sense? http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=266828 In short, it depends on how quickly an expo you're talking about. Faster expo, and if you're feeling safe, then not transferring is optimal. Later expo, the better it is to rally workers to the natural.

My buddy had a good rule of thumb. Ctrl click your harvesters, and if you've got 3 full rows, you're doing good. It's a good and quick guesstimation of your saturation.
