Maybe having to pay some of the contract up front, or having the system recognize what you can realistically afford.
Nah. Let people get punished for stupid decision-making.

Just started playing, pretty addicting. I should stop while I'm ahead..

Worst tick ever. Retired my >2500 ELO ace. =/

There should also be a way to pick up young talent without having to outbid richer players. Maybe a league below plastic where players instead of being bought and sold, simply get offered a spot on the team and take it. Like you do in the beginning. Except these guys would generally be worse and you would only be looking for people who will become good over time.
Pretty much like a B team system.

Pretty much like a B team system. Or instead of expecting everything handed to you, you could save and strategise in order to buy those players yourself?

you can't save in the beginning, you basically NEED a break out player/buy one and hope for good results to make any real moves. I've gotten outbid by like 700 dollars on basically everyone.

his point is that the current system is a catch-22 that keeps weak teams from acquiring strong talent.

I just started playing today but I keep getting 502 Bad Gateway Error, guess the server is just busy right now. I'd like to see this fixed soon! Other then that it seems like a cool game though =)

Unfortunately, you are making it out to be pretty easy. However, currently strategies only matter if your player is about as good as your opponent. Most of the time it comes down to which player has the better macro and doesn't suck in his vX matchup and doesn't have 0 micro. I was lucky enough to get a decent player in my first four picks when I started. I tried tons of strategies with him in practice matches and in tournaments and basically it barely matters what strategies you use if your opponent has significantly lower macro. That being said, I don't think that the idea of the guy you quoted is good, but I do believe that something should be done so weak teams can get some semi-decent free agents.

You seem to have misunderstood the concept. The only thing being "Handed" too people would be the ability to train young talent. These players will not win tournaments for a long time, but it gives people something to do while waiting a couple of weeks to be able to outbid people on the free agent market.
What I can't grasp is why are these players who are in the lowest league being bid on with ridiculously large daily salaries. It doesn't really make sense, and can be very boring to wait a week before your 4 starter players are good enough to earn you any money to bid on new players.

Sponsorship Income: $100 Merchandising Income: $280

i wonder where such things come from (and what they mean if they are supposed to be that way oO)
GoldFoot scouts. He sees 149 workers and 0 army.
OverSerious scouts. He sees 25 workers and 7 army. that makes me sad when reading the battle reports, because it cant be right^^

bad scouting is ur characters scouting low?
|
thats because your scouting skill is too low i guess... i think the closer it is to 10 the closer it is to the real unit/worker count but i dont know if im correct

I pick up 20~25 streams. Have a income of 1k. Spend $400 per day(Max 20per person sometimes 10-15) then have 600+Sponsorship. I have like 800$ i can spend on one player.
Edit: got a player on a 171$ per day. Sold him for 200$ =)

How do you get high popularity/streamers to get extra income? I have started a new team with all high popularity players, but my merch income is still 0. Do they have to play tournaments for the merch income to increase?
Edit: Also one of my players just won a BO3, yet still lost 3 ELO.

Bug, or is that supposed to happen?

I was so excited to play until I found out I couldn't cause of the email address I use, you'd have so many more players if you didn't force them to create a new email account. The limitation is there because the confirmation email does not get through to windows live/hotmail email addresses.
I seriously find that hard to believe.
