I hope this means he will return to the machine he was back when he was in Code S pre-girlfriend and huge salary. Yea i agree although im dissapointed about huk, its cool to see idra heading back to korea. I dont think he will have a very easy time qualifying though, hes been losing to foreigner who would have pretty much no chance at qualifying these days.
Although i actually know what hes doing, hes gonna take a code a spot from MLG, calling it right now. Thats for sure whats going down.

Congratulations LiquidRet on being liquids star player
Congratulations EG.HuK on being Evil Geniuses star player

IDRA TO TAKE CODE A SPOT FROM MLG!
you heard it here first folks.
Maybe someone mentioned it earlier, but either way i havent seen anyone say it yet.

So now that he won all that we decided to take him In the wise words of some old scholar, if you can't beat them, buy them. EG wanted him last year, but Liquid got him

Blizzcon: Liquid 2 EG 0. (according to Ret)

I could care less for teams. I'm not a fan of "Liquid" or "EG", I'm a fan of HuK. I wouldn't care if he was KKK'HuK or Nazi'HuK, I'd still cheer him on.
That said, I think living away from MC is probably going to hurt him in the short term, but he can't have a guardian angel looking over his shoulder all the time, he's a big boy now. And EG probably offered a life-changing amount, so I'm ok with his decision. I hope he'll practice just as hard if not harder now that he makes more money and MC isn't around.
Besides Idra and Puma, who else will be living in this future house? Has it been announced? What about the rest of EG like incontrol?

In business, you're either growing or your done. For eSports to grow, there has to be more money coming in. Money comes from tickets from fans and sponsors looking to advertise to fans. When the number of fans grow, the money grows and either only the league & team owners get rich or the players get rich, too.
If Huk is worth $100k/yr to EG to help promote their team and make their sponsors happy, that means there are other players who are probably worth a lot more than they are currently collecting. Maybe EG is wrong about what their SC2 team is worth and if so, they'll go bankrupt (but at least some SC2 players will get paid nicely first). If not, other teams that can connect with the money and provide opportunity for sponsors should be looking to get themselves a high quality SC2 team, too.
Free agency like this is generally good for the players and if you watch any professional sport, when a star signs a big, new contract, you immediately see other stars signing big, new contracts, too. It's occasionally bad for owners, if they outspend their fan base (didn't the NHL go bankrupt a few years back?).
If you want a simpler example -- I bet Hero gets more from Liquid than he did from oGs (or else why move?) and it sure looks like his salary was available with Huk's departure imminent. Huk gets a raise, Hero gets a raise and oGs has money to pay somebody else. More money = good for players.

The team house in Arizona won't really be beneficial w/o idra, huk, or puma living there. If your 3 best players are in Korea, and the rest of the team is in the Arizona team house, the experience won't be the same

On August 17 2011 01:34 Novalisk wrote: Just 3 players in the Korean house? And the Arizona house basically becomes their B-Team house?
Puma, HuK and IdrA... I'm having a hard time seeing those 3 become close friends, considering the rivalry and language barrier. And Puma basically gets no one to speak korean with.
Everyone also needs to realize there will be more announcments. EG is just spacing them out until they are final / for publicity. I would be shocked if by the time they went to Korea they did not have at least 6 players in the house.
I expect 1-3 more signings, maybe a Demuslim coming from the US house.
Seems to me their plan is having their best players in Korea (smart) and having a US house as well to bootcamp before MLGs / NASL / etc. (also smart). This is beginning to look like a pretty sweet master plan. When they signed Puma I was very skeptical - How could Puma practice effectively? They have earned my trust for now that this is another step in their plan.
I think EG gets that its about practice quality. A lot of foreigners practice as much as the Koreans. But they spend their time streaming / screwing around on a bad NA ladder / coaching. The house in Korea - if constructed properly - could put EG as the first foreign team able to offer the same quality and quantity of practice as the korean teams.
You have earned my support EG...now don't let me down.

Nothing yet, but I think it's going to be in place for GSL October.

I'm calling it now.
EG will stay at the SlayerS house.

I liked Huk, Idra, Liquid, and EG before this, and I still like them all after. LOVE

I woke up this morning, signed onto TeamLiquid, and this was on the headlines. I had a Braingasm, (only God knows what that means). I can't believe it: Idra, Huk, and Puma all training together? Idra and Huk are going to be best friends!? OMG! This is such incredible news. I feel bad that Liquid lost such a strong player though, no wonder Huk wasn't on the Liquid roster for GCPL versus CoL.

True fan. I'm with you bro :D ... although I can't see him joining a team called KKK

Wat? You're either growing or you're done? That's one of the most stupid things i've ever read. The whole point of a business is to be sustainable. It doesn't HAVE to grow to be a business.

This is sad . I love HuK but first and formost I'll always be a liquid fan. Liquid loyalty supersedes player loyalty. Time to go change my favorite player list in my profile.

It wasn't even beneficial with Idra there, and it probably won't be beneficial for all three there. Sure these 3 (Miami heat anyone) might be able to help Machine Inc and the rest get better, but it doesn't help IdrA Huk or PuMa in the least. People will pass them by just as people started passing Idra by when he left Korea.

Plus they still will practice with idra/puma/huk. They already have been practicing with Puma.

It's quite sad to see HuK leave Liquid...
But hey, I LOVE YOU STILL HUK!!!!
