This is kind of good news as it makes the NASL more of a NASL IPL, I think CatZ would agree

Really, now, the IPL and the NASL are on a direct competition, will have a truly similar orster of player, but one of them is going to be free...

Guess this is GG, Nasl

This is awful news. Ofc it hurts when the best players don't participate in a league.

I suppose we get to see more foreign heros then...

I just hope not too many high-tier europeans decline invite as well (they could be busy in korea).

time to say good bye nasl..

I don't see how you could say this. The IPL doesn't have koreans playing and they have a buttload of viewers. If there is a single issue with the nasl, it isn't the roster, it's the production issues.

People should stop pretending they can tell the in game subtleties between Korean players and high level foreigner players....you are watching the game not the name

Maybe you can't see the difference. Haha, try to say that to fans of any other competition or sport.

Koreans such as Rain, PuMa, and Hero will still be participating as they are not bound to SC2Con decisions! We are still waiting for a decision from FXOsC

I hope the players could have their own say in this.... but I fear than in the "Korean" system, players don't get much say.

This is a union flexing its muscles..... will be interesting to watch.

We are disappointed that the Korean Committee waited until the final hour, not only to make these demands but also to notify us of their withdrawal. We would like to apologize to our fans who wanted to see these players participate in the NASL and to the Korean players who hoped to participate. While we do respect the Committee’s decision, we wish it had been made in a more timely manner that did not interrupt the start of our season.

I would take this statement with a grain of salt given how amateur NASL has shown itself to be in the past. I would love to hear Mr. Chae's/SC2Con's side of the story.

People don't realise how broke the korean teams are or how expensive it is to go from Seoul to the US.

Wow that really sucks. That's a huge portion of the tournament participants and a lot of skill just gone. So are more qualifiers happening then or whats happening with all the empty spots?

Really bad news. Sounds like you guys did everything reasonable to keep the players involved though.

I don't really know what to make of this until I learn about how well the Korean teams are doing, budget wise. Still, it's disappointing.

Was already on the fence after season 1... after this I definitely will not be resubscribing.

The league lasts too long to care about weekly play, never mind forcing myself to watch/care about sometimes sub-par play and players. This is the same problem I'm having with IPL Season 2.

Waiting for hopeful Korean press release for their side of the story.

Wow, this is terrible news. i really hope something like this doesn't happen in the future, its a real shame that the players on those Korean teams will not be participating.
