Sadface, MC was a huge part of what made the grand finals awesome.

Still, some Koreans could play, there's no mention of SlayerS and Puma is with EG now, for instance. How will the vacant spots be filled?

I hate to say it, but I was considering buying a pass and watching a lot of group stage matches (NASL1 I only watched the play-offs) but now I'm not going to :/. I feel really bad for NASL as they've got so much hate in the past and now this huge problem isn't even their fault.

That's a pity, but it seems you did what you could. Have some qualifiers and let a great new season roll on, with or without koreans. Gl!

Hmm, that list of teams doesn't include all the korean teams. Perhaps we'll still see SlayerS, IM etc? And some of the foreign sponsored Koreans too? Maybe it still won't be so devoid of Koreans

SlayerS isn't in SC2Con.

Well I hope I can get a refund. (only player I really wanted to see was MKP)

Well that's pretty shit, which means you'll possibly loose the highest level of starcraft2 games. Hell you can do fine without

I will watch and enjoy; there seems to be a strange amount of elitism coming across in the post. I get a sense of "Us Koreans shouldn't have to pay" but that may just my cynicism. From the post it seems NASL went to extraodinary lengths to accommodate the Korean participates but they just wouldn't play ball.

I am sure this is not the end of the issue.

BoxeR already declined participation (his withdrawal came before the SC2Con decision, but for similar reasons)

wtf is that shit, how much does the freaking round trip ticket cost? just googled, it is 1200 dollars on average, the korean sc2 scene seems so juvenile at times :/

Dammit that sucks. The finals are just big as GSL and they do it in much less time. It just seems stupid to not take that offer when there isnt that much exposure for most players anyway. Theres more than enough guys who play maybe 4-6 games a month who are at code s but dont get very far or DRG for example who could easily fit it into their scedules and would make some money and get to see the world.

All the more reason for Korean players to join foreign teams.

Didn't another tournament had the same kind of problems with the koreans invites? Dreamhack maybe? I don't remember well...

The financial situation of korean pro-teams must be pretty awful if they are not be able to pay most of their players, make a deposit or pay a plane ticket. Is SC2 so unpopular in South-Korea?

Sad news from Korea, and bad news for NASL

Koreans such as Rain, PuMa, and Hero will still be participating as they are not bound to SC2Con decisions! We are still waiting for a decision from FXOsC

Then I expect PuMa/HerO to be in the finals. Hehe

Sen is a Taiwanese player in an American team so he isn't affected I think.

Yeah but he will be playing in the TeSL in Taiwan... so...

I'll be honest, the only games I watched in NASL were the Korean games and big names like WhiteRa, Sen, Ret, and IdrA when they played each other.

This means that I will not be buying a ticket, but I do feel bad for NASL. I'll still tune in for any note worthy match-ups.
