Why is Mr.Chae the SC2Con's mouthpiece here o_O?

I think GomTV has a seat there as an advisory role, but I thought sc2con would take care of something this big by themselves =o
AdministratorHey HP can you redo everything youve ever done because i have a small complaint?

Those guys just got hard, its like a GSL level prize pool with only a few koreans

Stay classy NASL, and I mean that seriously. I look forward to SC2Con's response, and I'll withhold judgement until then, but at this point in time SC2Con just continues to make itself look bad. It's sad that NASL really was the "global" starcraft league already, especially with their season 2 rule changes to allow for play on the best server for a specific match.

Wait, how does this one organization speak for all Korean SC2 players? I understand there's a players organization, but can these players not do as they please? How is this any different from MLG or anything else?

This feels very Kespa-esque and unexpected, to me.

The idea I imagine was to collectively bargain so that the players who qualify for the finals are all given the chance to play without paying out of pocket to attend a tournament. Traveling from Korea is really expensive, especially for teams without sponsors or with very little money. Some could afford it while others couldn't. Whether or not we agree I think they had the interest of Korean players in mind, given the state that Korean SC2 is in (there are very few teams with significant money to throw around on 3-5k trips to the US)

unfortunate, but NASL will still be strong and a great viewing experience. Good luck in the next season NASL!

The Koreans just don't want to come, they don't have to if they don't like the tournament. They should have decided sooner though.

This is such bull shit and its not even on NASL. I'm really disappointed in the Korean Committee. NASL is offering them a very, very good deal. A minimum of $2000 and you know most would be getting more than that.

I don't think this is a matter of each side being stubborn and etc. I think the ulterior purpose is to take Koreans out of NASL, or at least reduce the number of them. We know that we want pure NA league. At this rate season2 would have more than half Koreans for the main tournament and season3 would be new GSL taken in America. It's hard to judge who's being an ass, just by reading the post from one side, but I doubt there would be this kind of business issue if there are just a small portion of Koreans participated.

Despite the obvious implications of this which are really bad, I think its really really shitty for teams like coL and SK that have put money into gaining the services of the Korean players in foreigner tournaments and will now be seeing rather less return on their investment. It also seems odd to me that this was done through a commitee decision at all, i mean thats useful for the negotiations but cant each team make their own decision on the final offer made rather than all pull out. Although I guess I dont know that didnt happen.. just seems odd when some teams wouldnt have to worry about certain of their players at all like MC and Nada

how does this work for players like Nada, MC, DRG etc. being sc2con team members but also members of foreign teams? i hope they can still play. that is what those sponsorship deals were trying to accomplish in the fist place, bringing those key players to foreign events that the korean teams couldn't afford to send them too.

well, it does seem like NASL tried to do everything they could. If this is all there is to it, it's crazy bad from the koreans.

Well, then seriously, fuck them. Sorry but what the hell do they think they are?
We don't need them, their not celebrities that we have to carter to and pleasing everything they want.
They have the chance to win 50'000$, that should be motivation enough to pay for the expenses.

If what is in the OP is correct and true, I say fuck the Koreans for asking for extreme special treatment. NASL sounds like they did everything they could financially do without killing their budget.

NASL will do just fine without them as long as they keep improving the broadcast.

I feel like this has more to do with the GSL/MLG exchange program than anything else.

Foreigners should enjoy the fact that they have a legitimate shot at an extremely large prize pool now. But the skill level will drop a bit.

Best of luck to the NASL.
